James Appleton is well known in much of the obstacle racing world. He is one of the main characters profiled in the upcoming Rise of the Sufferfests documentary. Appleton made a name for himself in obstacle course racing in the United Kingdom. What many people do not know about Appleton is his other passion, photography. He is an award-winning photographer. Appleton’s photography passion has taken him around the world chasing incredible scenery and capturing some of the world’s hidden gems. This past year he took an extended trip to Patagonia shooting the mountains, lakes and glaciers. Each yeah Appleton compiles 12 of this best photos from the previous year and makes them into a calendar for the public to buy. These calendars make the perfect gift for any obstacle racing enthusiast, nature lover, or anyone who appreciates incredible photography. Appleton is currently taking orders for his 2016 Calendar – Light in the Wild. Orders can be placed on Appleton’s website. Speaking with Appleton this morning he said orders received before December 5th will be shipped in time for Christmas orders after that date may not make it before the holidays.
