The USA Obstacle Course Racing announced today that four athletes will represent the United States in the upcoming World Team Challenge in Italy this April. The team includes Kristen Mullen, Cassandra Ohman, Ben Dydyna, and Jared Forman.

The World Team Championship is set to be a 15 – 20-kilometer obstacle race with over thirty obstacles. The course is set to feature a mixture of individual and team-based obstacles. All obstacles are set to be mandatory completion per the World Team Challenge website. The race website did not indicate how many teams are currently set to participate. However, as many as 68 national member federations of the International Obstacle Sports Federation could be participating according to the official press release below.

Prize money for the championship is set for 2,500 Euros for the top team, second place 1,000 Euros and third 500 Euros. The full press release is below.


USA Obstacle Course Racing (USAOCR) announced today the national team to represent the United States at the Shardana World Team Challenge in Sardinia, Italy on April 14th, 2018. The team, who qualified at the 2017 USAOCR National Championships in Miami Florida, includes Kristen Mullen, Cassandra Ohman, Ben Dydyna and Jared Forman.

Countries from the 68 national member federations of the International Obstacle Sports Federation (IOSF) will compete in teams of four, composed of two women and two men. The winning team will be crowned the Obstacle Course Racing (OCR) World Team Champions.

The Shardana World Team Challenge will be held on Saturday, April 14th at Pittulongu Beach, Olbia and is presented by the city of Shardana. Federazione Italiana Obstacle Course Race (FIOCR), the European Obstacle Sports Federation (EOSF) and IOSF are supporting the event.

For those trying to keep up with all the championship races globally, this OCR World Team Championship is not related to the team championships Spartan Race produced in 2017 or the Team championships produced by the independent OCR World Championships event. This event is put together by the European Obstacle Sports Federation and International Obstacle Sports Federation.
