Yesterday the North American Obstacle Course Racing Championships released its athlete guide with one noticeable edition that has many masters athletes jumping for joy!  For those looking to compete in their age group category new divisions have been added.

Originally the oldest age groups were 50+ in past events. This year Adventurey the parent company of the Obstacle Course Racing World Championships and North American OCR Championships has expanded age groups for older athletes. Introducing age groups 50-54, 55-59, and 60+ divisions for both men and women.

Athletes who are already signed up for age group competition in the 50+ group, no need to worry, you will automatically assign you to the correct division according to Adventurey CEO, Adrian Bijanada, in a Facebook post earlier today.

This is a massive step for obstacle course racing to continue to entice athletes of all ages to continue to push themselves to the limits on the course. Many masters or sometimes called super masters athletes have called for more age groups for years, and today Adventurey answered the call for the upcoming North American Obstacle Course Racing Championships in Stratton Mountain, Vermont – August 10 – 12, 2018.

The North American Obstacle Course Racing Championships offers a short 3K course August 10 with a pro, age group and journeymen and journeywomen divisions. Saturday, August 11 is the classic 15K course distance for pro, age group, and journeymen and journeywomen divisions. The team race is Sunday, August 12 for both pro and open divisions as well as the charity race open to all which supports the Stratton Foundation helping local kids.
