About Drew LaPointe

During a challenging time in my life in 2013, I found something that gave me focus, and helped provide direction. I identified the world of OCR when I needed it most. My inspiration also came from a great friend of mine who has some amazing challenges in his life; but he lives every day to the fullest. Since that time, I have now connected with many amazing people, and have begun my events. I am extremely happy to have found OCR and all the great people associated with it. My goal is to continue to do everything to better myself, and contribute in any way I can to building this great sport.

Race Recap: Michigan Mud Factor

When I first identified this event, I became interested to see what it was all about. I had reviewed the information on a few examples of this event in other areas, so I thought I would give it a run. I was very happy that I entered this event, as it turned out to be a quality outing.

Race Recap: Mud Kings

By |June 18th, 2014|

The overall course itself was touted as "Mud Kings", but I feel I could get muddier on my training runs! We began by wading through a large/rectangular "pool" before running over a small mound of dry dirt. The course then progressed to some other inflatable obstacles, and some fixed ones. The course itself was relatively flat with only one decent hill to ascend, and then a watered tarp to slide down upon the return. A 6' wall, and some angles walls with ropes were present. To that point, nothing too challenging. We then crawled through a few tubes, again with dry dirt in them, and small dirt piles to traverse prior to them.
