Course Description:
The 5-mile obstacle course is carved into the woods and fields of Sunny Hill Resort's 600 acres in the Catskill Mountains. The obstacles consist of hills, climbing over high obstacles built into the terrain and trees, ropes, water, mud, balance beams, monkey bars, tunnel, and rock, all in rough terrain.
Aid Stations:
There are two aid stations and an ambulance at the event. Fruit and water is available at the finish line.
Awards:
Overall top male and female racers compete to win the coveted Viking Age ""Thors Hammer"" award. In addition, there are valuable prize baskets for top 3 elite-wave finishers in each age group 55 and under and 56 and older.
Prizes:
Prizes for fastest team and best costume.
Spectators:
Spectators are free. Parking is free. There are designated viewing areas, however, spectators can roam the resort's grounds near the race. We are a family-friendly resort offering hay wagon rides, a variety of adult/kids rides, a lake, rock-climbing wall, cliffhanger, playgrounds, tennis, basketball, and more. Racers who lodge at the resort will have their race registration waved and receive all meals, activities, and free greens fees for golf.
Parking:
FREE parking is available at the resort.
Post Party:
A fun post-race party will be held with a DJ, lunch at the pavilion, beer, rides, rock-climbing, cliffhanger, and much, much more!
Other:
A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Greenville Volunteer Ambulance.
The minimum age to race on your own is 14, unless accompanied by an adult. All racers must sign insurance waivers.
The event is being timed and announced by ARE (Albany Running Exchange) Event Productions.
Kids will have a blast at the resort with incredible activities, including the rock-climbing wall, cliffhanger, tennis, basketball, and so much more. Childcare is available during the race from 8:30 - 12:30pm for resort guests. Costumes are encouraged!
Team:
