Race Start Time:
This event will have individual heats only. If you plan to run with a group, have everyone individually register for the SAME heat (heat=start) time. If you think you have what it takes to dominate our course, check out our ELITE HEAT! The elite heat will be the first heat of the day, and winner takes home a cash prize and free entry to our next event! This event will not be individually timed, however, there will be a time clock at the finish line so you can see how you did. If you didn't get enough of the dark at our last event, BLACKOUT, then be sure to register for the NIGHT HEAT. A headlamp is required to run after dark! Think you can do both? If you register for a daytime heat and want to run a night heat as well, we'd love to see it! For just $10 you can run the course AGAIN after dark! ($10 payable on site prior to racing again.)

Course Description:
This is a US Army Ranger approved obstacle course. Built on some of the most unforgiving property in the area and riddled with the most diabolical obstacles we could come up with. The Scramble is sure to test the most elite of athletes. Don't let the threat of failure scare you. Every competitor that crosses the start gate will finish. Athletes will have the option to scale certain obstacles to their fitness level. You are sure to get your fill of mud, rocks, hills, and body wrenching obstacles.
The St. Clair Scramble obstacles aren't the only thing with a twist in 2014. After two awesome events in 2013 we decided to give YOU the option of running by day or running by night! Think you're top dog? Run in our elite heat to bring home all the bacon OR see if you have what it takes to run a daytime AND a night time heat!
Think you have what it takes to overcome 20+ physical obstacles and 3.2 miles of rough, St. Clair County terrain? If you came out for the first St. Clair Scramble or the epic St. Clair Scramble BLACKOUT, you may think you've seen it all... But THINK AGAIN! This St. Clair Scramble is bringing you the best of both worlds with DAYTIME heats and NIGHT TIME heats! We've got a NEW course, NEW obstacles and its a whole new ballgame!
Aid Stations:
Water and fruit will be provided for participants at the finish line. No outside food or drinks allowed on the event property.

Parking:
All vehicles will be parking at St Clair Co High School. Participants and spectators will be transported to race grounds by bus. **Due to residential traffic, there will be no other parking options.**
Post Party:
Vendors will be on site with food and drinks for purchase, please have cash.
Other:
Proceeds from St. Clair Scramble support an awesome charity, the Ian Harper Memorial Scholarship Fund. Ian was an alumnus of St. Clair County High School and the first State Champion wrestler at SCCHS. Ian was an avid outdoorsman, adventurer, and a great friend. Tragically, Ian was taken from us May 2007 in a car accident. In his memory, his parents, Johnnie and Rhonda, wanted to leave a legacy that Ian would be proud of and the scholarship fund was created. We are proud to say in just two St. Clair Scramble events, we have raised approximately $30,000 dollars that went directly to the scholarship fund and to students in St. Clair County!
There is no age limit for this event. Please keep in mind this is a 5k with rough terrain and treacherous obstacles and participants under 18 will require parental consent.
There will be wash stations and changing rooms on site. Don't forget your towels and a change of clothes. You will be filthy, we promise!
We will have a bag check for your personal belongings. That being said, please leave all valuables at home! We are not responsible for lost goods.
If you need a seat, please bring chairs, blankets, towels... We plan on having fun all day and night so sit, have some grub, sling some mud and enjoy yourself!
We don't call it running in the dark for nothing! We will light the trails with glow sticks and tiki torches and our volunteers will keep you moving in the right direction. DON'T FORGET YOUR HEADLAMP and, of course, any other lighting effects you care to wear are encouraged!
