Mini-Tonka Mud Run starts at 8:30am.
Tonka Mud Run – Timed Runners start at 9:30am and Just Have Fun Runners start at 9:35am

Organizer:

Tonka Mud Run To support those who face the challenge of hunger by completing a challenging athletic event. The event will in turn promote exercise, family activities, community fun, local businesses, and the beauty and activities found at Minnewashta Regional Park.

Tonka Mud Run is your family friendly mud run to fight hunger. On August 24th, we are going to have two races at the beautiful Minnewashta Regional Park to support Kids Against Hunger-West Metro.

The Tonka Mud Run is a little over a 5k. You can run the entire course and take a timed finish or you can opt to run a portion of the course and take a JHF (just have fun) finish. Our obstacles are family friendly and rate higher on the fun scale and lower on the risk scale.

For our mini mudders, we have the Mini-Tonka Mud Run. It is only about 1/4 mile with obstacles appropriate for your little one. The fire department will be on hand to give safety demonstrations.

Bring the family and enjoy a day of fun and exercise that helps a good cause too!

Course Description:

The course is set at the beautiful Lake Minnewashta Park. The course will take you through the grassy, hilly prairie loop, along a bike bath to the beach, through the wooded cattail trial, down to the boat ramp, and through the mud bath to get to the finish line. Along the way, you will experience the infamous Waterslide, high step through Tire-riffic, Haul a Campfire Log up a hill, go over and under at Heaven and Earth, get down for the Army Crawl, show your skills at the Hula Hoop obstacle, Walk the Plank, figure your way through the Crazy Maze, Limbo, Hay Bale Climb, balance over the Teeter Totter, Build a Sandcastle, climb through a Spider Web, See the Light at the End of the Tunnel as you crawl through, Curb Hop to the boat ramp where you will Ramp it Up on your way to the Mud Bath!

Aid Stations:

An Aid Station will be at the Start/Finish Line. The Chanhassen Fire Department will be on stand by if paramedics are needed. Course monitors are stationed throughout the course to notify the paramedics if needed. There will be light refreshments and water available at the finish line.

Spectators:

Spectators are welcome. They may roam the course, cheer on the mudders, and join in the fun. They may not try out any of the obstacles. Only registered participants who have signed a waiver may participate on the obstacles.

Parking:

Parking is free. We will have a remote lot within the park with shuttle service should we need it.

Post Party:

DJ Bill will be rocking the party with tunes. Joey Novas will be selling pizza for the hungry. Hula Hoop contest and awards will be given out. Face painting and bounce house will also be present.

Other:

Splashing through mud. Crawling through tunnels. Sliding down a waterslide. Racers at the Tonka Mud Run complete lots of fun obstacles while doing good!
Now in its fifth year, the Tonka Mud Run is a popular, inclusive event for families and people of all ages. With varying distances and obstacles of differing challenges, the Tonka Mud Run promotes being active at individual physical abilities while giving back.
The Tonka Mud Run strives to support those who face the challenge of hunger by completing a challenging athletic event. Proceeds from the race are donated to Many Hands Many Meals, a local nonprofit that packs life-saving meals sent to local organizations and around the world.
