Project Mud is a 5K run that is interrupted by 20+ extreme obstacle challenges. Participants should be able to run, jump, swim, climb, crawl, slide etc. How quickly you are able to perform these will determine your success at completing the course.

Post Party:

All participants are encouraged to celebrate your accomplishment with your fellow Project Mud Runners! Change your running shoes for your dancing shoes and get down live music performed by popular, local bands. Make sure to bring some cash (and valid ID) so you can have a cold beer or two, and refuel your body with some tasty fare provided by one of the food vendors on site.

Other:

You must be at least 14 years of age to participate in Project Mud for legal and insurance reasons. If you are under the age of 18 a parent/guardian must be present to sign a waiver. There is no upper age limit.

It is imperative that you wear clothes you are comfortable with ruining! Having said that, think about the essentials: shoes you can run in, light clothing (it will get wet and wet means heavy!). Gloves can be helpful but are not necessary. Creative Answer: We've seen people run in leisure suits with combat boots, full prom dresses and even a full on penguin costume. Let your imagination run wild!

Some people are so proud of their accomplishment that they will revel in their dirtiness for the post-event celebration. Others will find they have mud in places where mud should not be. For this reason, there will be shower stations and changing tents provided on site. Feel free to bring towels and a change of clothes. If you choose not to rinse off, be sure to consider lining your vehicle for the ride home!

Participants should plan to arrive at least 45 minutes prior to their start time. This is necessary to insure that all participants have been checked in, have signed the liability waiver and have ample time to stretch and reach the start gate. Participants may only check themselves in and pickup their individual Event Packet.

Participants are encouraged to leave all valuable items at home or if required secured inside their own vehicles during the event. Project Mud will have a bag storage area but will not be responsible for personal belongings.

There is no time limit for completing the course. However, participants must realize that additional heats will be starting before they finish their run.

The way we see it, this is YOUR RUN. You paid to do the course - why not actually do it? You will only get out of it what you put into it. If you think a particular obstacle appears to be too difficult, try it. You will never know what you are capable of if you don't push yourself! There is no penalty for skipping obstacles. Rather than skipping obstacles, you are encouraged to work together to help each other complete the obstacles in a timely manner.

Team:

You are encouraged to run the course with at least one other person! It's difficult to be a big kid by yourself! Go grab dinner with your team and think of the most outrageous team theme! This is your chance to let out the kid in you that you have bottled up under all the stress of life. Let loose and HAVE FUN!
