Course Description:

The Heroes Mud run is a 5K (3.1 mile +/-) run over cross-country terrain. Along the way there are over 12 different obstacles to overcome and maneuver and lots and lots of mud. There are combinations of man-made and natural obstacles. Man-made obstacles are built by master-craftsman and include jump walls of varying height, tires to step through, ramps to climb up and over, cargo nets to climb and…wait…we can’t tell you everything. Oh, we will mention there’s mud.

Our Little Heroes Kid’s Course is just a “Little” version of the fun. Registration is $15 per child either online or the day of the event at the Registration Tent. Designed for the “average” 8 Year Old…the race can accommodate ages 4-13. It contains 6-8 obstacles, none of which require swimming or any height of note. It is approximately 2k and parents are welcome to run alongside their children. However, our obstacles are not built for adults, you will not be able to complete the obstacles but you can be there to aide your child. Volunteers will assist when needed. There are no winner placings…everyone is a winner for competing and not getting in trouble for being muddy. Please note that there are only finisher dog tags for the kids registered for the run, not the parents assisting the children. Children will receive a t-shirt, goodie bag and they are welcome to clean up in wash area after their race. Kid’s obstacles are not available for practice or use prior to or after the event. The race is not timed. Each participant may only run the Little Heroes Kid’s Course one time.

Aid Stations:

There are at least 3 Water/First Aid Stations along the course. These stations will be marked with a red cross or “First Aid / Water.”


There are no monetary prizes or awards for this race. However, you have the elite opportunity, glory and bragging rights of being inducted into the Heroes Mud Run “Mud Cup of Fame” under the following categories if you qualify:

  • The Muddiest (Adult)
  • The Muddiest (Child)
  • The Muddiest (Couple)
  • The Muddiest (Team)
  • Best Individual Costume (Adult)
  • Best Individual Costume (Child)
  • Best Couple Costume
  • Best Team Costume (4+ persons)
  • Best Team Costume (2+ children)
  • Best Team Name
  • Oldest Participant
  • Youngest Participant

“Mud Cup of Fame” candidates will be identified and selected by certain Event Staff and through the photos taken by the Event Photographer. Be sure to get your picture taken by the Event Photographer! Those selected with this honor will have their official photos posted on the Heroes Mud Run website within 14 business days.


Spectators can hang out and enjoy post-race food, music, and watch everyone get dirty in support of our Heroes!


Parking is $5 per vehicle, cash only. Please bring exact change to expedite the parking process.

Post Party:

There will be a disc jockey “spinning” your favorite tunes before, during and after the race. However, the main entertainment will be all around you and on the course


There will be changing tents and rinse-off stations onsite for all participants.
As a benefit to all racers, the Heroes Mud Run will offer a bag check for all participants. Each racer must have their bib number on to check and claim their bag. Bag check is limited to one bag per participant. While the bag check area is secure and we make every effort to protect your belongings, the Heroes Mud Run is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Please leave valuables at home.
The Heroes Mud Run proudly supports our local Heroes. A portion of the proceeds of the Heroes Mud Run will benefit the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation, in conjunction with local firefighters and the Heart of a Marine Foundation, proudly serving all branches and members of the United States Armed Forces. Both organizations are 501( c ) charities. Come show your support by participating, volunteering or cheering your Hero on.


You may race and participate as a team, however, you must register individually. You may wear team costumes or have your team name on your shirts. Ensure your bib number is visible on the front of your shirt/costume. Teams must finish together. The minimum number for a team is 4. There is no maximum limit to the number of team members you can have. This can be as few as 4 or as many as 50 and beyond.
