Each racer will have the opportunity to select their wave. Wave 1 is reserved for those that qualify for the Elite Wave (See ‘How does the Elite Wave work?’) and Wave 2 is reserved for URBANATHLETES that purchase an ‘Upgrade Package’ (See ‘What is the upgrade package’). Changes may be made to your wave assignment at packet pickup.

Organizer:Men’s Health Urbanathalon The Men’s Health URBANATHLON is a three-city event series comprised of 9.5- to-11 mile endurance races that incorporate city landmarks and urban obstacle courses set on the streets of three of the largest cities in the U.S. Post race, the excitement continues at the Men’s Health URBANATHLON Festival, with DJ sets, food and drink, and tons of stuff from our sponsors to demo, sample, and take home.

Whether you are taking on the classic distance or all NEW sprint distance course, the URBANATHLON is the ultimate test of endurance, strength, mobility and pure toughness. Post race, the excitement continues at the Men’s Health URBANATHLON Festival, with DJ sets, food and drink, and tons of stuff from our sponsors to demo, sample, and take home.
Elite: Classic Distance: The Elite Wave, Wave 1, is open only to the first 300 racers who have posted an acceptable “qualifying” time in a previous URBANATHLON® event. Sign-up is on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to event director approval.
Sprint Distance: The Elite Wave, Wave 1, is open only to the first 250 racers who have posted an acceptable average mile pace in for a 3-5 mile run. Sign-up is on a first-come, first-served basis and subject to event director approval.
There are hydration stations with water and sports drink at certain obstacles
There will be an Awards Ceremony, honoring the Overall Male and Female winners for the Classic and Sprint distances, Fastest Stair Climb for Classic and Sprint distances, and the Agency Challenge Champion.
Age group medals will be distributed to Classic race distance participants only.
The Classic Distance Awards Ceremony will take place at 10:30AM, the Sprint Distance Awards Ceremony will take place at 11:30 AM.
All participants will receive pretzels and a banana when they finish. There will be additional food for purchase for participants and spectators.
All participants must be 18 years of age or older to compete.
All information regarding Gear Drop will be enclosed in racer packets. Please note that bags are not provided.
