Course Description:
Choose your race, either the 5KMDASH or the 10KMROCKSOLID.
Race solo or build your team, but ALWAYS challenge others to race it
out over gnarly natural obstacles and mega-man-made structures. Get
bogged down in hellish swamps and catch some air on our huge
hydro-slide; this is not an event for the faint hearted. The latest
chipped timing systems will deliver your results instantly to see how
you fronted up.
5km Dash - We’ve taken short distance running and turned it on its head with 25
obstacles, including 6 feet walls, giant hay stacks, swamps, tunnels,
ponds and pontoons designed to push you to the max. Against the clock,
you will be running, jumping, crawling, pulling and climbing all the
way from start to finish. Muddy good fun? You bet. Easy? Definitely not.
10KM Rock Solid - 10 tough kilometres and 35 obstacles stand between you and glory.
This course is not two laps of the DASH. We’re adding in the DASH
obstacles plus sandbag carry, monkey bars, swamps from hell and 8 feet
walls to name a few.You will have to wait and see what surprise obstacles we have lined up... Included
in the ROCKSOLID will be a separately timed ’Green Mile’ which will be a
one mile obstacle free zone to see how well you max out. A big prize
rightly awaits the winner of this separate cheeky challenge; watch this
space.
Pure grit, steely determination and lashings of team
spirit will help you power your way to victory over your fellow
combatants.

Spectators:
For those who aren’t RockSolid enough yet, we welcome you to come and join in our event from a mud-free distance. Access to the event village, costing only £4.00, will allow you to get amongst the racers pre and post race, and provide you with a great vantage point over the best obstacles. Our racers will need all the support they can get so come and cheer them on! Fantastic facilities will be available. As a spectator you are also welcome to roam the course, so pack those walking boots.
Parking:
Parking will be charged at £3.00 per car. We strongly encourage car pooling- let’s keep Devon clean! Please bring the correct change.
Post Party:
This is the event that just keeps on giving. Our ethos is all about pushing you to your max, over some bad-ass-obstacles, after which you’ve earned the right for some serious play time. Forget getting in your car and driving straight home, cold, muddy and wet (like you normally would) - we want you to get hosed down/ showered and get involved with the awesome live music in the Big Top with Adam Isaac, live 6 Nations rugby in the Beer Tent plus activities such as Tug of War (you’ll find the energy from somewhere!). Grab some locally sourced food and relax with your comrades - you’ll have earned this one! This promises to be a Saturday like no other. And it doesn’t end there. Post RockSolidRace, we will be running buses to Exeter for a nominal fee - for the official RockSolid after party at Timepiece where RockSolidRacers will get free entry!
Other:
For legal reasons, the minimum age is 18 years old. Parental waivers cannot be used.
Please arrive onsite 90 minutes before your wave starts, to pick up
your race pack (bib number, safety pins and chip), have a Health and
Safety demonstration, followed by a thorough warm up by our PTI’s.
Whatever you choose to don on the day, make sure it’s quick drying (avoid cotton which will soak water and keep you cold). Running
leggings help to minimise small cuts from straw bales and undergrowth,
while gloves will help to prevent rope burns. Knee supports will help
reduce cuts and grazes.
There will be a safety deposit for car keys, wallets and other personal belongings.
We strongly encourage everyone to complete every obstacle (c’mon it
is an OBSTACLE race you have signed up for!) but if you can’t then
you will be subject to a time penalty, as directed by the race
marshals (the penalties vary for each obstacle).
It would be helpful but not necessary to be able tos wim. Ropes will be laid out for your aid if you require them. At points in the race you may be submerged briefly.
Team:
You can go solo, but we would encourage teams, for three reasons
1. This is a hard race, our obstacles are big and tough; you will need help for them.
2. This is a challenge. You will need an emotional pick-me-up every-so-often.
3. You will save money.
We
want you to bring your everyday team from work/ sports club/
university or wherever, and pitch yourself against your rivals, be it
another sports team, perhaps another business, and race it out over our
mean ass course. Have that shared experience ’in the trenches’ that
you can remember forever. Business owners can expect to receive
coverage via our website and social media, so get them on board! Be the
first to set out the challenge for your competitor to come and race

4-8 members: 5% off ticket price.
