The Viking Challenge The Viking Challenge 5K and The Viking Crusade 10K extreme wilderness mud runs are located in the beautiful hills of Otter Tail County, MN.
Located just 12 miles north of Fergus Falls, the Challenge and Crusade is an annual event created on over 400 acres of wooded areas with rolling meadows, meandering trails, lakes and lots of MUD!
The only permanent natural obstacle mud run in Minnesota. It's extreme, its beautiful, it will challenge your body, your mind, and your ability.

The Viking Challenge -Family 5K is open to younger children as long as a parent stays with the children on the entire course. Family run participants agree to run together and stay together throughout the course.

Course Description:

The Viking Challenge and Crusade is a 5K/10K extreme wilderness MUD run through trails in the woods, meadows, hills, obstacles, water and mud.
The obstacles will be challenging and hazardous. It is your responsibility to leave the course or use the alternate route around the obstacle if unable to complete an obstacle.
Volunteers and course officials will be at all obstacles.
Notify a course official if you or someone you are with is injured.

Aid Stations:

Aid stations throughout the course, paramedics & EMS personnel on standby at site, water throughout course and at finish line.

Awards:

1st place trophy for overall finishers in 5k and 10k.

Prizes:

Prize for best costumes and as far as muddiest finisher....you all will be full of mud!

Spectators:

Spectators area is provided and entry is FREE.

Parking:

Parking is free!

Other:

We have onsite men's and women warm showers and changing rooms, food and beverage vendors onsite, music, Mud Volleyball, gear check area, the event is timed.

Team:

Teams are encouraged to register. There is a $5 per team member discount applied to your online registration when creating or registering with a team.
Team costumes are encouraged and an award will be given for the best team costume.
Teams can help each other through the course, encourage each other to keep going, raise money for their cause by getting sponsors for their team and getting pledges for the charities.
Team pledges and charity contributions will go directly to the charities in addition to The Viking Challenge committed support.
