Race Start Time:

8:00 is the start time for the first heat. Heats will begin approximately every 15 minutes depending on the number of total registrants at the start of the race. Approximately 25 people per heat. The event is to inspire team work and is set up with that concept in mind. Individual times will not be recorded with chips to promote team work as is the motto of the Green Berets.

Colorado Green Beret Challenge The 1st Annual Green Beret Challenge is a 5K obstacle course race that is being held on August 23, 2014 at the 10th SFG Compound on Fort Carson in order to raise money for the Special Forces Scholarship Fund. The registration fee is $30 and 100% of the proceeds go to benefit the Fund which donates scholarships to the sons and daughters of Green Berets. Participants in the course can expect a 5K course that includes multiple events to include a sled push, water can carry and litter drag as well as a military oriented obstacle course. Come out to help a good cause!!!

Course Description:

Participants in the course can expect a 5K course that includes multiple events to include a sled push, water can carry and litter drag as well as a military oriented obstacle course. Constant run distance of approximately 2.5 miles along the entire route with hills.

Aid Stations:

Water provided at the event as well as medical services on standby for emergencies ONLY. Helmets will be provided for the obstacle course and must be returned upon completion of obstacle course portion.

Awards:

There will be no awards as 100% of the proceeds go to benefit the Special Forces Scholarship Fund.

Spectators:

Spectators for the event are welcome to come as long as they can gain authorized access to the military installation. Riding in vehicles along with event participants is allowed. No fee for spectators.

Parking:

Parking is free and yes we recommend carpooling if possible. Take directions from parking lot personnel.

Post Party:

No post party.

Other:

100% of the proceeds go to benefit the Fund which donates scholarships to the sons and daughters of Green Berets.
The minimum age to register is 14 years of age.
No swimming in the event and no gear check.
Portable restrooms will be on site however there are no dedicated changing areas, so come prepared (or use your car).
