Race Start Time:

The 5K (ages 12 and up) begins with the 8:30am heat (designated competitive) and then continues every 30 minutes through 10:30am.
The Kids Mini Mud (ages 6 - 12) kicks off at 11:30am.
Heats are capped at 800 and are released in waves of about 75.

Grand Rapids Mud Run The Grand Rapids Mud Run is the toughest and funnest run in West Michigan. (at least the Grand Rapids Press and other runners think so)

We aim to get you muddy and to help you have the time of your life at the Grand Rapids Mud Run.

We're also trying to get a job for Coach Pitts, you may have met him last year. Coach came by last year to show us some pointers on running a mud run. He was formerly the US walking coach for the '72 Olympic team.

Course Description:

This one lap 5K course takes you through 20+ obstacles including multiple mud pits, a 60 ft mud slide, tunnel crawls, walls, slippery hill climbs and more.
It challenges the seasoned runner, but is also family friendly. Eat Dirt is Tough Fun!

Aid Stations:

First Aid Station on site along with Safety Team along the course.
There is a water station on the course and a runner food table at the finish line area.

Spectators:

Spectators are Free and there are some designated areas for viewing all the muddy fun!

Parking:

Onsite parking is only $5

Other:

The Eat Dirt Mud Run supports a great cause.
The 5K timed run is for those 12 and up. Kids Mini Mud is for those 6 - 12 and is not timed.
Free gear check for runners, Free spectator area, open air shower to clean up when you are done.

Team:

We do not have official teams, but you can register as a ""group"" of 5 or more for the Base, Plus or Pro Pack and receive 15% off registrations.
We encourage team shirts and costumes! All registrants are timed as individuals.
