Grit N Wit Join us August 23rd for our inaugural event - Grit 'N Wit! 3+ miles of mental challenges, mind puzzles, and physical obstacles.

Other obstacle course races test you physically, but that's only half the challenge of Grit 'N Wit.

Grit 'N Wit is not your typical obstacle course. Here, tough isn't enough. Mental challenges and mind puzzles are spaced throughout the course. Quick wit is rewarded with shorter walls to climb and fewer hurdles to overcome.

But, don't be fooled. With three plus miles of obstacles, you'll still need your Wheaties.

Brains and brawn. Bring it on!

Course Description:

Participants will encounter 10+ physical obstacles and 10+ mental challenges over 3 miles. The course is designed to be a fun, challenging event.
Physical Obstacles:
Gorilla Bars - inclined monkey bars
Carried Away - sandbag carry
Shoot! & Ladder - 10' slatted wall
It's a 10 - 10ft wall
Three's Company - series of 4 ft walls
Tired - monster truck tire flip
Rise Over Run - inclined wall
Mt Rubbermore - tire pile
Spider Web 2.0 - spider web

Mental Challenges
Keep Your Wits About You - memory puzzle
Cinderbloku - arranging domino cinder blocks
Puzzled - tangram
Momento - memory match
Ultimate Field Sobriety Test - maze and inclined balance beam
Scrambled - word scramble

Aid Stations:

We will have paramedics on the course. There will be water and sport beverages at the finish line.

Spectators:

Spectators are free. There is a path alongside most of the course where participants are able to view. Spectators can also hang out in the festival area where racer's hang out after they finish.

Parking:

Parking is free.

Post Party:

There will be four breweries in the festival area - Back East, City Steam, Thomas Hooker and Two Roads - along with music.

Other:

The minimum age is 10 years old. A portion of proceeds goes to scholarships, to ensure that this generation is Grittier and Wittier than the current one.
Participants can transfer their registration to another individual. We will be unable to change the T-shirt size if the registration is transferred within 3 weeks of the event.
There is no obstacle involving swimming.

Team:

You are welcome to race as a team, which is beneficial with the mental aspect of the race.
