Race Start Time:

Solo waves start as early as 10:30am and will consist of up to 20 racers with fresh waves starting as frequently as every 10 minutes. Team competition starts as early as 1:00pm. Stick around for festivities that last until 5:00pm.

Course Description:

A mostly flat course with a couple of mild hills, four water passes, and 10-15 obstacles. Obstacles include an 8-foot wall, hurdles, tire flips, rope walls, and tower hoists.
The Pike Fireman's Challenge is an obstacle course event in which participants face firefighting-themed obstacles to test their physical capabilities, teamwork, and ability to overcome some of the challenges faced by firefighters in the line of duty. This philanthropic event is open to the public and is completely free to attend as a spectator. All proceeds go to local fire departments and first responder units in need.

Aid Stations:

There will be aid stations at the mid-point of the course and the finish line. Paramedics will be on standby.

Spectators:

This philanthropic event is open to the public and is completely free to attend as a spectator. Spectators are asked to remain within certain bounds, but will have views of most of the course.

Parking:

Parking is free, but carpooling is highly recommended.

Other:

Local fire departments and first responder units in need receive 100% of the proceeds from every Fireman's Challenge obstacle race. The yearly selection of the department(s) and/or unit(s) to receive donations is based upon their involvement with the event and their level of need as assessed by the brothers of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. These proceeds are donated to the department(s) and/or unit(s) with the purpose of assisting them in their efforts to protect the members of our community.
The men of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity have worked for 3 years with the goal of making the Fireman's Challenge you see today the premier firefighting-themed obstacle race in the nation. All around the country, chapters of this fraternity have hosted their own Fireman's Challenges in various ways and for many different charities. UAHuntsville is the birthplace of the UAH chapter's new and improved Pike Fireman's Challenge. That means there are high expectations for this race and it is sure to live up to them. Participants should prepared to get soaked and face plenty of tough obstacles and challenges as they make their way through a course that will make them wish they could do it again and again.
