Organizer:Cannonball Rush Fort Henry was built at the top of a hill to dominate the areas below. It was surrounded by rough terrain and natural obstacles to make assaulting the Fort a hopeless endeavor. Faced with steep hills, deep ditches, and water on three sides denying a preferred approach, no one dared to attack. That’s about to change!
On July 12 2014, Fort Henry National Historic Site of Canada will be hosting the second annual Cannonball Rush event, an outdoor run combined with challenging obstacles designed to test your strength, determination, and team spirit. Only those who overcome these challenges and cross the finish line will claim victory!

The Cannonball Rush is a 5km run interspersed with 12+ obstacles. You will be running this course in and around Fort Henry, part of a World Heritage Site, which offers one of the most unique experiences of any obstacle course. Built in the 1830's we bring history into every aspect of the race. From starting the race with an actual 1850's Armstrong field gun, to jumping into and working your way through our dry ditches (moat), to carrying actual 150 year old cannonballs, you will see what life was like for the soldiers who lived there, and experience the hopelessness of an enemy attacker!
You will run up steep hills multiple times, crawl though tunnels, climb high walls, and jump over walls. Only those who overcome these challenges and cross the finish line can claim to have conquered the Fort!
The course will include at least one water station. Multiple First Aid providers will be on site. There will be water at the finish line and a cash BBQ.
There will be prizes from our sponsors.
Spectators are free, and there are multiple areas where you can watch your participant Rush through the course!
Parking is available on site. Carpooling is always promoted out of respect for mother nature.
There will be music, a post event BBQ, and awards and prizes handed out.
