This race structure has been carefully created, refined and reviewed by the top strength and conditioning coaches from the CrossFit community, United States Armed Forces and USA Triathlon Organization Race Directors. Exercise Elements of the PIT (lifting element):

The CMC PIT is in an AMRRAP format where each competitor is encouraged to complete ""As Many Rounds & Repetitions As Possible"" (AMRRAP) for a 7 minute time period the routine shown below:

The CMC competition is designed for all level athletes to test strength, endurance and agility. Race day structure consists of “The PIT” (strength element) transitioning into a mountain run with military obstacles positioned throughout. The difficulty of the course is determined by you the competitor, whether you are a weekend warrior looking for the ultimate challenge or a competitive athlete looking to win... CMC is for you.

The PIT consists of 3 basic movements and it is designed to be the great equalizer by leveling the playing field between power athletes and endurance runners to determine the best overall conditioned athlete. As a competitor your goal is to accumulate as many repetitions as possible. The exercises in the PIT are simple universal movements that all athletes, no matter what sport or fitness background, can relate to.

Rules Inside The PIT
Competitors must remain at their station until instructed to rotate.
Individuals and teams will be randomly assigned to a strength element in the PIT upon entering the “On Deck” area.
Competitors will start the round in the standing position in front of the strength element.
Do not touch or perform any exercise until the buzzer has sounded. Once the buzzer goes off the athlete can then start.
Dropping or throwing of any weight (kettlebell or thruster bar) above the waist will lead to the disqualification of all repetitions for that strength element.
Any unruly behavior in the PIT will lead to expulsion from premises.

Rotation of Stations
Once the buzzer is sounded to end the round, the judge will walk with you to your next station.
Upon completion of all 4 strength elements competitors will transition to the mountain course.
Set a Goal: Each competitor determines the difficulty of the PIT and obstacle course by how hard you push yourself.
This unique structure is what separates the Civilian Military Combine from all other races and competitions.
This race structure has been carefully created, refined and reviewed by the top strength and conditioning coaches from the Cross Fit community, United States Armed Forces and USA Triathlon Organization Race Directors.

Team:

Minimum team size is 3 people with NO maximum size limit.

Please notice, early heats sell out fast. Make sure that you select a heat that will accommodate all of your teammates. Please notice all your team members to register ASAP because our registration system is on first come first serves basis.

If a heat does not appear at the heat section that means that it is sold out. If your teammates are in heat that is sold out you will have 3 options:
You will have to discuss with them and have the entire team moved to a heat that is able to accommodate everybody.
Wait for somebody to switch his/hers heat time so that you can join the rest of your team in the particular heat.
Start new team with other people that would like to join the particular team. We would do our best to accommodate all team, however for greater satisfaction we suggest to keep the teams smaller and to register soon before or after the rest of your teammates.

At the CMC events, teams are NOT required to finish together, however that is up to you to decide as a team. Because of the scoring structure of the CMC races, strategy comes into play within teams. As a team you can separate at the starting line and allow your faster runners to take off and do the race at their place. Or you can all run together and help each other throughout the course. The team score is based off the average of all the members’ PIT reps and run time, if a person on the team finishes faster that will bring the average time down for your entire team.
