Course Description:

The course follows the Prairie Loop Trail then connects to the Beach Loop which takes you down to the beach and across the beach to the Cattail Trail. Then finishes with a run down to the old boat ramp and back to the starting area. The Prairie Loop is a hilly run through a grassy path. The Beach Loop is a long down hill stretch mostly on the paved bike path. The beach will be sandy and wet should you choose. The Cattail Trail is mostly flat and grassy. The run to the boat ramp and back is mostly hard packed sand with an uphill run to the finish.

You can opt to do the full course as a timed runner or a portion of the course as a just have fun runner.

The obstacles are high on the fun factor and low on the risk factor.

There will be limited parking by the main pavilion with overflow parking a short walk away or down by the beach.

Other:

You may run as a Just Have Fun runner and only participate in the portion of the course that you opt to complete.

Since this is an event geared toward the entire family, we want to encourage everyone to participate---therefore we will have two finish lines. One will be for those who want to do the entire course and have a timed finish. The other finish is for those who do not want to do the entire route but still want to participate and Just Have Fun. We ask every participant timed or JHF to cross their finish line so we can account for all of our participants.

Just do the obstacles you feel safe doing and that are fun for you. We actually prefer you skip an obstacle if you feel you do not have the capability to complete it safely.

All family members participating in the Tonka Mud Run may register as a team and receive a 5% discount.

Yes! We encourage costumes. Let your imagination run wild. We will have a trophy for best costumes, including individual and team/family categories.

If it rains the race will proceed as planned. However, if there is thunder, lightning, or any other severe weather, we will postpone the race until such weather has passed for a half an hour and then bump the times back accordingly.

There is actually very little mud. Mud runs were developed as challenge runs. There are many different degrees of challenges offered from one mud run to the next. Since our run is family friendly, our challenges score higher on the fun factor and lower on the risk factor.
