Race Start Time:

Adult 5K Course (ages 13 years & up) waves fly the coop beginning with the competitive wave at 9:00 AM, with groups following every half hour.
The Family Course (for ages 5 years & up) opens at 10:00 AM.

Dirty Bird Mud Run The Dirty Bird is a mud-lovers event with fifteen (or more?!) challenging obstacles that will test even the toughest old bird and most hardcore hawk, but varied enough that even those just recently out of the nest will have a blast.

Set along the banks of the [Muddy] Missouri River in Ponca State Park, the Dirty Bird Mud Run offers one of the most unique, beautiful and fun courses found anywhere in the country.

Thank you to everyone who participated in or supported the first annual Dirty Bird Mud Run! Well over 400 registrants did a litt bit of running, a little bit of climbing, a little bit of crawling and had a whole lot of fun through the mud and the water.

All proceeds benefit youth sports, summer camp and other youth programs at the Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA.

Course Description:

A challenging, mud-lovers event with over fifteen challenging obstacles that will test even the toughest old bird and most hardcore hawk, but varied enough that even those just recently out of the nest will have a blast.

Set along the banks of the Missouri River, Ponca State Park offers unique, beautiful and fun courses not found anywhere else as participants will jump, climb, crawl and slide their way through mud, beach, trails and along the waters of Mighty Missouri River!

Aid Stations:

EMT’s will be on site to administer first aid should it be needed. CNOS will also have an athletic trainer near the starting line to evaluate injuries.
A limited number of snacks and beverages will be available for runners and volunteers at the finish line hospitality tent.

Parking:

We highly recommend car pooling. When you arrive at Ponca State Park, please look for Dirty Bird signage directing you to the run and parking. There will be parking attendants pointing you in the right direction. It is recommended you arrive at Ponca State Park thirty minutes prior to the start of your wave to get checked in, stretched out and ready!
