Just kidding! This is the War Horse Warrior Challenge after all! Warriors run in every condition except lightning. Even if you’re dressed as Flash, you’ll have to wait 20 minutes after the last lightning bolt has been seen with the rest of us before you run. Check the local weather station and bring your ugliest rain poncho, and those mittens Grandma knits you.
Let’s be honest here. It’s a challenge. For Warriors! Like anything, even getting out of the shower, there is always the possible risk of injury. We take every precaution possible to ensure you get to the finish line in one piece. There will be numerous volunteers, paramedics, and EMS personnel onsite during the entire event. If you get injured or need medical assistance, we’ll have back-up that’s almost as good as Lady Gaga’s back up dancers.
Whether you run like Forrest Gump or you run like a penguin, the War Horse Warrior Challenge is suitable for you! Our 5K puts all others to shame, because unlike all those ordinary 5K races, you’ll need to use upper and lower body strength (and everything in between). Strength train and work your cardiovascular system as much or as little as you want, but be warned – this will be the most fun and gratifying experience you’ve had…well, ever, so exercising your facial muscles IS mandatory. You’ll be grinning ear to ear all day.
There’s a clock at the beginning and end of the race if you want to time yourself, but really who wants that? Even if you have to drag yourself across the finish line, somebody will be there to cheer you on.
Unlike skipping school, skipping obstacles is not cool. Half the challenge is facing what you fear – except spiders, even warriors are terrified of those – but if you’re still about as comfortable completing an obstacle as you would be strutting nude on the beach, you can always opt out. We won’t tell your high school gym teacher.
Is there an age limit on having fun? Okay, in this case yes. Participants must be at least 13 years of age to experience the endorphin induced high that awaits them at the finish line. Sorry kiddies, but if you’re under the age of 13 you have to do the 1.5K. Participants under the age of 18 need a parent or guardian to sign for them in order to participate in this muddy, gritty, dirty, dirty, dirty run. Everybody else – if you can run, crawl, and tango, it’s game on!

Team:

Participants can choose to conquer the War Horse as an individual or in a team of four.
