Race Start Time:

7:00 A.M. – Park Opens
8:00 A.M. – The Little Muddy 1Mile Start
8:30 A.M. – The Little Muddy ½ Mile Start
9:00 A.M. – The Boomerang 5K Track Obstacle Start
10:00 A.M. – The Muddy Nick 10K Wave Start
11:00 A.M.- The Boomerang 5K Track Obstacle Start
12:00 P.M.-The Muddy Nick 10K Wave Start
1:00 P.M.- The Boomerang 5K Track Obstacle Start
2:00 P.M.- The Muddy Nick 10K Wave Start
3:00 P.M.-The Boomerang 5K Wave Start

NOTE: The start time for the Muddy Nick 10K will be in fifteen minute intervals. Each smaller wave will include approximately 50 Challengers. As an example if your Muddy Nick Start time is 10 AM, you may start in the 10 AM, 10:15, or 10:30 Wave. There will be no more than 50 race challengers per starting wave.

Time Limit: The Muddy Nick Course will be closed at 5:00 PM. Any unfinished challengers will be transported to the finish line to join the others for race day festivities. If you feel that you are unable to complete The Muddy Nick in 2.5 hours, it is suggested you register for the 10AM/12PM Wave.

Course Description:

The 5k is on flat terrain The 10k is on rolling hills with horse and military-style obstacles

The Little Muddy 1 Mile Kids' Run: The Little Muddy 1 Mile is for kids ages 11 to 17. The run starts at 8:00 AM. A Registered parent/adult may run free with child challengers. This event will be a mini race with horse park obstacles and a few added surprises. All child challengers will receive a t-shirt, and all child finishers will receive a medal.

The Little Muddy 1/2 Mile Kid’s Run: The Little Muddy 1/2 Mile is for kids ages 5 to 10. The run starts at 8:30 AM. A Registered parent/adult may run free with child challengers. This event will be a mini race with horse park obstacles and a few added surprises. All child challengers will receive a t-shirt, and all child finishers will receive a medal.

The Boomerang 5K Run: A 5K Track and Obstacle style run with the added challenge of a few beers and a bratwurst. Challengers must be 18 years or older on race day. Challengers must be 21 years of age to consume alcoholic beverages at the event. Substitutions will be made for challengers under the age of 21. Challengers will complete three laps around the Carolina Horse Park Horse Track. At the initiation of each lap, each challenger must drink a beer/or non-alcoholic beverage (1st and 3rd Lap) and eat a 1 foot long Bratwurst (2nd Lap) before continuing. It's called The Boomerang for a reason!

The Muddy Nick 10 K Resilience Run: A 10K race through the challenging terrain of the Carolina Horse Park. The race will contain a variety of military style obstacles and navigational challenges.

Aid Stations:

There will be two aid stations on the 10 K event. Paramedics will present at the Horse Park during the entire event.

Prizes:

There will be a raffle for prizes.

Spectators:

Spectators are free. All spectators must have valid identification and must sign a waiver prior to entering the horse park. Great viewing areas for start and finish of the Muddy Nick. All kids races and The Boomerang will be viewable by all spectators.

Parking:

Parking is available at the Carolina Horse Park. Please bring two cans of non-perishable food in lieu of parking fees. All food will be donated to local food bank.

Post Party:

There will be music, beer and food available for purchase.

Other:

Clothing: No time for mud? No worries, make sure to bring a change of clothing and consider donating your race wear. SOC will wash all donations and drop them off at a local homeless shelter. Feel free to bring any additional clothing and shoes for donation.

Pass Bands :Each of our supporting charities will have pass bands available for purchase, $5.00, cash only. These bands will be sold on race day. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the supporting charity. These bands allow you to bypass an obstacle during any of the SOC events. Think you need a little extra help on race day? Buy a few and know that you are helping out someone more than yourself.
