Course Description:
We’ll be returning to The Great Tew Estate in 2016, bringing our epic obstacles back to the most stunning scenery that Oxfordshire has to offer. Having sold out our event in May 2015 there, we’ll be doing the next one over 2 days, Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th May, to cater to 5000 Roughians!
We’ll have a 5km route with around 10 obstacles, a 10km route with 15, and all 20 obstacles on our 10 mile route if you’re up for the toughest challenge. We never do laps at Rough Runner, but everyone who joins us for the game show-inspired journey will cross the Travelator at the finish line. So you can consider that particular childhood dream fulfilled!
With 4000 acres and an enormous variety of terrain at our disposal, you’ll be run through forests, streams, and the very best rolling hills the countryside has to offer along with a load of natural obstacles to tackle.
And then, of course, are our own awesome obstacles. Curving rope swings, steep slopes and slides, big balls, a punching wall and loads more, all inspired by our favourite TV game shows, like Total Wipeout, Takeshi’s Castle, Funhouse, Gladiators, Ninja Warrior and more.
Aid Stations:
There will be medical services close to hand all through the site, with off-road vehicles to carry you back to the village if you need.
Spectators:
Spectators are free!
Parking:
Free parking.
Carpooling is encouraged.
Post Party:
The runners’ village will have food and drink outlets while for you buddies when finish!
Team:
Rough Runner is even more awesome when you do it with friends.
