Race Start Time:

Participants start in pre-defined batches that they choose themselves when they enter the race. In other words you can choose what time you want to start. Batches usually consist of 100 participants and start at 10min intervals.

Course Description:

The Warrior Race has 4 different course options:

Warrior Black-Ops - 16-21km + 30 obstacles
The Black-ops Race will challenge your physical and mental limits and will redefine your ideas of what your mind and body are capable of. Yes, it will make you a WARRIOR!

Probably never again will you experience a sense of achievement as big as when you cross that finish line of the Warrior Black-Ops Race. If you want to take up a true challenge, to defy your perceived limitations, to put your fitness to the ultimate test and to experience supreme obstacle racing, the Black-ops is the race for you.

This race offers 30 exhilarating and sometimes brutal obstacles that promises to deliver blood sweat and tears. Obstacles range from insane body twisters, rope climbs, log flipping, sand bag carrying, muddy barbed wire crawls, jumping from high towers, larger than life mud pits, climbing over walls, jumping over fire, climbing over high nets and many more. See bottom of page for some photos of what to expect.

The Black-ops Race offers an EXTREME course and is tailored for those that are really brave and fit. We suggest you check with your medical doctor before taking on the Black-ops race. You will be tested physically and mentally. The smallest of weakness will be exposed.

Finishing a Black-ops race deliver's a feeling that is surpassed by none and truly wins you bragging rights and respect. This race is all about proofing to yourself you can do anything you really put your mind to. Average time to complete the race is 3h30min.

Warrior Commando - 10-12km + 20 obstacles
The Commando Race will give those laugh in the face of the Rookie race but fear the widely respected Black-ops race a chance to take the next step in obstacle racing. If you feel the Rookie is not enough for you but you are not quite ready for Black-ops then worry no more.

The Commando Race will challenge you and will challenge you hard but it wont break you like the Black-ops race. In this race participants will do 95% of the Rookie obstacles and 30% of the black-ops obstacles. It will leave you with a taste of whats to come should you be Brave enough to take on Black-ops one day.

This race offers 20 fun filled and challenging obstacles that promises to to leave you wanting more. Obstacles range from muddy barbed wire crawls, jumping from high towers, larger than life mud pits, climbing over walls, jumping over fire, climbing over high nets, carry heavy objects, doing insane rope work and many more.

The Commando Race offers a MODERATE to HARD course and is tailored for those with a good fitness level but not good enough for Black-ops. If you cannot do a specific obstacle, you can do the punishment exercise (burpees) and continue to the next obstacle. We will never force you to do an obstacle. This race is all about having fun and laugh more than you ever have in one day. Average time to complete the race is 2h00min.

There are obstacles in the COmmando Race where you will have to jump into water and swim to the side. The maximum swimming distance required will never be more than 5 meters and water safety marshals will be at these obstacles. Again remember that we will not force you to do an obstacle that you are not comfortable with so if you can’t swim and don’t want to do this obstacle, simply do the punishment exercise and move on to the next obstacle.

Warrior Rookie - 6-8km + 15 obstacles
The Rookie Race has been designed to give each and every one the opportunity to share in the crazy fun of obstacle racing. You will still be challenged, you will still get dirty, you will still have the thrill of a proper obstacle race and you will most certainly experience an overwhelming sense of achievement when you complete the Rookie Race. This race caters for all types of participants; the first time obstacle racer, the not-so-fit, the company team building teams as well as those training for the more serious Black-Ops. Bottom line is… you don’t have to be a top athlete to take part in the Warrior Race. If you have a sense of adventure, fun and humour, the Rookie Race is just the thing for you.

This race offers 15 exhilarating obstacles that promises to make your experience memorable one. Obstacles range from muddy barbed wire crawls, jumping from high towers, larger than life mud pits, climbing over walls, jumping over fire, climbing over high nets and many more. The Rookie Race offers an EASY to MODERATE course and is tailored for anyone and everyone to do. You don’t even have to run… ok, you might have to run to get over the Avalanche. The rest you can walk if you want. If you cannot do a specific obstacle, you can do the punishment exercise (burpees) and continue to the next obstacle. We will never force you to do an obstacle. This race is all about having fun and laugh more than you ever have in one day. You require very little fitness to complete a Rookie race. Average time to complete the race is 1h30min.

There are obstacles in the Rookie Race where you will have to jump into water and swim to the side. The maximum swimming distance required will never be more than 5 meters and water safety marshals will be at these obstacles. Again remember that we will not force you to do an obstacle that you are not comfortable with so if you can’t swim and don’t want to do this obstacle, simply do the punishment exercise and move on to the next obstacle.

Warrior Bratz - 0.5 - 1km + 7 obstacles
Kids race for ages 4-13
Parents are welcome to follow their child(ren) on the route for moral support and to take photos.
Distance of 0.5 - 1km with 7 safe, child friendly obstacles with no limit on the number of laps
The Bratz Race is as easy as you can get. The course is setup purely for the enjoyment of the kids while mom and dad take on the big-daddy race.

Prizes:

Prizes available for black-ops heats.

For the Open men & women division, there will be sponsored product prizes for prodiums.
For the elite, men & women, 1st prize is R100,000, 2nd prize is R3,000, and 3rd prize is R1,000.

Spectators:

R30. Obstacle Racing is an amazing adventure that is fun filled, action packed and a highly entertaining spectator’s sport. The challenging and exciting obstacles that participants have to take on and conquer very often lead to awkward and extremely funny moments and are a blast to witness as a spectator.

The Warrior Race is no different so if you are not actually participating in the race, there is no reason why you cannot still share in all the fun and action and be entertained by the crazy stuff that the “warriors” are up to on the obstacle course.

To get spectators as close to the action as possible, there will be designated spectator view points on the course so bring your cameras. You definitely will want to capture some of that crazy action on camera.

Spectator’s entry fee will be only R30 per person and includes access to the entertainment area where a fun-filled day is guaranteed with live music, DJ’s, beer stands, food stalls and a dedicated product expo area as well as access to the designated spectator view points.

There will also be a kids entertainment area so bring the whole family!.

Other:

The Rookie and Black-ops races are timed. The Brats race is not timed.
Brats 5 - 9years. Rookie from 10years. Black-ops from 19years.
Warrior Race is a proud supporter CANSA Active and the Jumping Kids Foundation.

The Warrior national championship will surely be the highlight of the season and a true spectacle. To qualify for the national championship a solo particpant need to do one series event. The top 100 solo participants in each of the first 6 series events will qualify to take part in the national championship. The national championship event will also take place over two days. The Saturday will be open for anyone to do the race. The first batch on the Sunday will be the Elite batch competing for the national championship. Only 150 entries will be available. All participants who qualify for the national championship (Black-ops only) will be sent invitations to enter before entries are opened for the public. Entries for the 2013 national championship competitors will be R500.

Team:

Individuals and teams can participate in Rookie and/or Black-ops race. Only individuals can participate in the Brats Race.
Teams can have 2 - 8 members, men and woman. You can enter as many teams as you want depending on available space.
