Course Description:

Nature Ninja features unique terrain--it is designed to be appropriate for both beginner OCR runners and experienced mud challenge seekers. There are several hills and cliff overlooks throughout the course. The terrain is rocky in sections. Runners should prepare to get wet and be covered in mud. There will be approximately 30 difference obstacles, some of which are natural and others designed by our course creators. Examples include:
Muddy maze trails: Trails of mud through weed mazes
Log clambers: clamber over large fallen logs
Tire traverses: climb over large tire obstacles
Barge belay: belay yourself from one side of a quarry to the other
Ropes course: balance your way across ropes from one tree to the next
Sand scurry: avoid touching the net above you and crawl through the sand
Hill climbs: grab a rope and make your way to the top of the hill
Cave exploration: wriggle through a dirt cave
Mud slide: slide down and climb back up a slide of mud
And many others...

Aid Stations:

There will be three aid stations on the course, each one mile apart from each other. Paramedics will be on standby. Fruit, water, and plant-based snacks will be available at the finish line.

Awards:

Unique medals will also be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall for females and males.

Prizes:

There will be a prize for most creative solutionary attire.

Spectators:

The spectator fee is $8 for adults and $5 for children for those who pre-pay online or $12 for adults and $7 for children for those who pay at the event. The spectator fee does include admission to the botanical garden and post-party.

Parking:

Parking is $5 per vehicle. Carpooling is recommended. The racer parking lot is in a convenient location.

Post Party:

The race does have a post-party, featuring several eco-friendly vendors and delicious plant-based food vendors. There will be live music, speakers, games, prizes, and free food samples.

Other:

All proceeds to Nature Ninja are applied to education programs for Solutionary Events and Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens, two 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. The event is non-profit.
The minimum age to participate is 13 due to the cliff hazards. However, we are working on introducing a kids race for 2019! Stay updated at www.NatureNinjaRun.org.
The race is timed for all competitors. There will be water obstacles and there will be lifeguards on staff where necessary. Swimming is not a requirement to complete the race, however, since there are alternative obstacles. There will be a few wash/changing areas available for after the race.
