Hero Rush is a tough, crazy, fear-facing fun obstacle race, unlike any other. Runners tackle an intense 4+ mile course at one of several locations nationwide, with 17 – 20 unique, firefighter-themed obstacles, from climbing ladders and sliding down poles, to crawling through windows, breaking down doors and saving trapped victims. Designed by veteran firefighters, Hero Rush forces participants of all ages to face their fears and challenge their endurance and strength in an energetic and fun environment. This family-friendly event also offers two kids’ courses at each location, entertainment, food and drinks, and more on the Inferno Midway. Hero Rush proudly supports the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation and National Firefighters Endowment to honor our heroes. Excellent race and had a lot of fun but they have gone out of business and are not refunding people's money for future events. I had enjoyed it so much before I signed up right away after the last one and now I'm suffering as a result. Sometimes the early bird gets shot by a shot gun.

Helping out those in Florida affected by HERO RUSH closure

Aug 06, 2013 by David DeCosta

The team at ZOMBIE RUSH understands how you as race participants feel and for us as race operators and being part of this industry in general we don't want people to turn away from this great sport. Although the name of our race (ZOMBIE RUSH) is similar to HERO RUSH, please be assured we share no affiliation with HERO RUSH. With that being said, a lot of the organizers of the HERO RUSH series to our knowledge are firefighters. ZOMBIE RUSH wants to state for the record that our company is also comprised of fire industry personnel and we sympathize with the organizers of HERO RUSH as this cannot be an easy decision.

In our best effort to help those who have been affected by the cancellation of the HERO RUSH series, the ZOMBIE RUSH team would like to offer the first 50 people that show proof of purchase of their cancelled HERO RUSH race registration, free entry to our race, ZOMBIE RUSH being held on October 19th at Amelia Earhart Park in Hialeah, Fl.  After the first 50, all remaining registrants of HERO RUSH that show proof of that purchase, will receive 50% off of registration to ZOMBIE RUSH.  Proof of registration can be provided via email to info@ultimate-combatant.com.

Here at ZOMBIE RUSH, we wish we could give ALL those affected by the HERO RUSH race series cancellation a free race, unfortunately its not possible for us to do that and provide the level of service our company has come to stand for. We sincerely hope our offer helps all the race participants and keeps everyone enthusiastic about obstacle racing.

Thank you and race on!

The ZOMBIE RUSH Team

THEY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS TODAY AUGUST 3RD

Aug 03, 2013 by brian nace

Here is the email they sent:
Dear Hero Rush Registrants,
We regret to announce that Hero Rush is cancelling all future events and will no longer be in business as of August 3, 2013, ceasing operations immediately. We have worked tirelessly these last few weeks to continue producing our events but due to business conditions, we cannot.
We are sorry to have to send this email and for no longer being able to host our amazing participants, you've been incredible and supported us like we could never have imagined.
The obstacle racing community has been great, but despite an exhaustive search for options through today, we cannot proceed further. We do hold out some hope that another race series or investors will step in and allow us to continue and some discussions towards that are continuing to take place through early next week. But at this point we cannot continue forward. We will file Chapter 7 bankruptcy in a few days and will not be able to refund due to our financial situation.
Hero Rush no longer has staff or resources and will not be able to respond to individual emails or phone calls but will provide additional email updates as information becomes available.
Thank you again for your support of our race, our charities and our partners in 15 communities we've visited since last April.
Hero Rush Team

It was a rush and felt like a Hero

Bravo all around! First all, the parki g situation was fantastic...it was right next to the registration area with parking attendants and plenty of parking. Race itself was awesome, very challenging, creative, and fun. There was always a staff present about every time you needed one. They were very friendly, courteous, and attentive.
However, couple disappointments that weren't a big deal is that they didn't have turkey legs which I would think/hope that all these type of races would have. Also, the food line was very long and they ran out of food before the day was over. Overall, this race is very organized, safe, and fun. Kudos to the staff, management and volunteers! They made it a great day for our big group. Oh, a couple suggestion to the logistics, more group tents should be avail to accommodate the groups that signed up for them. And if please figure out a way so that racers don't have to wait about 20 mins to climb the rope...your muscles get cold and u risk getting a cramp.
