One Man. 45 Days. 3,030 Miles. One Record-Breaking Attempt.

Adam Kimble is a 29-year-old ultrarunner from Chicago, IL.   In February of 2016, Adam and his crew are going to embark on a journey to set the Guinness World Record for the fastest crossing of the USA on foot.  Through this endeavor, he hopes to do the following:

1. Inspire people all over the world to pursue their passions and trust in the call given to them, accomplishing things they never thought they could do.  Anything is possible with faith and hard work.

2. Push the limits of his mind and body, relentlessly giving everything he has to break a Guinness World Record that has stood for over 35 years.

3. Raise awareness for impossible2Possible (i2P) and the incredible things they are doing to educate and empower the next generation, so that they will not be afraid to push beyond their perceived limits and achieve the “impossible.”

Adam Kimble’s Run Across USA: Day 13

By |February 29th, 2016|

This morning a man, Ken, just happened to walk by a pit stop and said, “Hey! Are you walking across the country? I just heard about you on the radio!” Then continued to share hydration techniques. Then, this afternoon high schoolers Chris and Ricco, joined Adam walking and asked Adam to sign their track shoes for good luck in this upcoming season. So cool!

Adam Kimble’s Run Across USA: Days 14-16

By |March 2nd, 2016|

Exciting moment for Adam! He started running again today! Today started a new routine of intervals of running and walking. His initial plan was to do this all along, but since he’s been in a lot of pain he hasn’t run since the afternoon of Day 5. So running is huge deal! Even though he’s running, he’s still in pain in his left shin, left IT band and left Achilles. Adam is waiting for the day he can enjoy running again and not be in pain.

Today was the same routine: Wake up at 3 am. Start walking at 4 am. Run/Walk 5 miles. Pit Stop. Run/Walk 5 miles. Pit stop. Over and over until the finish line for the day. Today’s finish line was an exciting one! Adam hit the New Mexico border! Ultra pal ran with Adam the last 30 miles of the day and finished at the New Mexico border with Adam. To shake things up a bit at the pit stops, Adam’s wife Karen started playing Pass the Popcorn to give Adam fun trivia since he’s a big movie guy.

Adam Kimble’s Run Across USA: Days 29-32

By |March 18th, 2016|

There’s a new vision to this mission and you could tell today. Adam was in high spirits as a man with a new plan and new goals. Team morale is high, too. We continually try to be creative at pit stops. Today, we turned to the game two truths and a lie to stump each other. We’ve gotten to know each other pretty well being together 24/7. Adam dominated 50 miles for the third day in a row and has 1,212 to go! Starting to visualize the Atlantic Ocean from Texas! Onto Day 33!

Adam Kimble Run Across USA: Day 33 – 43

By |March 30th, 2016|

Adam still progressed by getting in 29 miles from 5 am to 8:30 pm. He was experiencing a lot of pain in his right shin and right hip. He’s amazing to persevere through all of the pain. Progress is progress! One of the best parts of the day was having two puppies follow Adam for 3 miles and keep him company. The crew would have loved to keep the pups as our trans-con mascots, but we reunited the puppies with their family. Onto Day 44 in Louisiana!
