Muckfest MS was held on both Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10 at The Glen Mills Schools in Glen Mills and Thornbury Township Pennsylvania; we were there on Saturday. For those not familiar with the area, the venue is 30 miles outside Philadelphia and about an hour from my home in New Jersey. I raced with my twin sister Patti, my younger sister Chrissy and our friends Cara and Heather.
MuckFest MS announced a new national sponsor for 2017 with AbbVie signing onto the national mud run series. MuckFest MS mud run headed to Detroit over the weekend. MuckFest MS has been around for years not only offering a family friendly mud run experience but also at the same time raising money for the National MS Society. Millions of dollars have been raised over the years and awareness of both the event and cause continues to grow. MuckFest MS recently hit a milestone in for the National MS Society.
Quantity over quality or quality over quantity? How about both? If you wanted to play in the mud this weekend, there was no shortage of events! From our tried and true staples, Like Double Spartan Races, An epic showdown at BattleFrog Series, Warrior Dash, Terrain Mud Run and Rugged Maniac, to more specialized races to get excited about, like the end of an era taking place at Mud Guts and Glory, the always highly anticipated Goliathon and a welcome reminder of what we love most about OCR at Conquer the Gauntlet – this weekend had it all.
The Traveler Beer Company continues their partnership with MuckFest MS and the National Multiple Sclerosis Society for the 2016 season. MuckFest MS is a family event, so the festival area was loaded with lots of families, friends, and couples all having a good time. Music played throughout the event and this only helped make for fun times and smiles.
I am just an average Joe. I can run 3 miles on a good day. I don’t lift weights, use the machines at the gym or otherwise train seriously. But I love a challenge and fell in love with OCR immediately. My philosophy is: I may not be the best runner, but I WILL do all the obstacles.
Muckfest was a fun course, but it rained ALL DAY.
