Course Description:
The goal is very simple; get from the start to the finish. Like adventure racing (or even obstacle course racing) there are challenges in front of you - in SwimRun, they are natural boundaries such as water, rocks, and brush, as you navigate the course by buoys in the water and ribbons on the trail. Speed and endurance is important, as is navigation and planning.
What sets SwimRun apart from triathlon (aside from the lack of a bike) is the absence of transition areas; you will go from run-to-swim-to-run again carrying or wearing all the gear you have with you from the start to the finish.
Other:
There is no transition area, and you may not drop items and pick them up later in the race. Every piece of gear, clothing, hydration, and nutrition you bring on the course is with you the entire time.
