Course Description:

The Green Beret Challenge is NOT an OCR, rather, a demanding endurance challenge comprised of military style equipment combined with unique ""events"" that will test your mind, body and spirit. Along 8 grueling miles, you will be required to push, pull, carry, climb, or crawl your way to the finish line. Logs, tires, litters, sleds, telephone poles and definitely water, combined with the intense terrain each venue has to offer, are some of the highlights this 8 mile gauntlet delivers to its participants. We promise the pain WILL be legendary, but the sense of accomplishment will last forever.

New for 2016 - Slightly different from our team challenge, the GBC Individual Challenge will require you to endure a series of personal engagements along the 8 grueling miles of hell. However, much like the team challenge, litters, sandbags, tires, water and more sandbags will certainly test your mind, body and spirit and take you beyond your perceived limitations. You will want to quit! We promise these will be the most demanding 8 miles of your life!

Aid Stations:

The GBC will have a stationary aid station as well as medics roving the course. Numerous water stations and ORAL IV will be available on course as well as at the finish line. Also, our protein/endurance smoothie bar will be at the finish line to replenish your supplement depleted bodies.

Awards:

Individual awards will be presented to the Fastest Male/Female (overall) and in the following age groups: 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50+.
Team awards will be presented to the Fastest Male, Co-ed and Female Teams. All GBC finishers will receive a medal, t-shirt and some new friends for life. The immeasurable award is knowing that you have just completed one of the most difficult races in America.

Spectators:

GBC does NOT charge for spectators. All spectators are welcome to follow their favorite team along the course, take pictures and encourage them during their more challenging times throughout the event.

Parking:

Parking for this specific event is $5.00 per car. Parking is proximate to the start/finish area, so no shuttles will be required.

Post Party:

Off site location for the post party TBD

Other:

Not quite ready for the competitive heats? No worries, the open heats will allow you and your team with options to either carry the competitive standard weight or the scaled version of that event. Come out and enjoy the course without worrying about finishing the GBC. You CAN do it. Please ensure you register for the appropriate heat.

As former Special Operations soldiers, we certainly support various charities for our wounded warriors.
Minimum age to participate is: 16 (with parental consent)
There will not be an actual swimming event for this challenge. This is not to say that participants will not be exposed to water. Given the time of year and outside temperatures, we will make the determination on what that actual exposure will be. Safety is paramount to the GBC and its participants.
This is not a mud run, therefore there will not be any shower stations provided. Due to the close proximity of parking, there will not by any bag check for this event.

Team:

The team version is a 4 person team format developed to challenge your mind, body and spirit. Along 8 grueling miles, you will be required to push, pull, carry, climb, or crawl your way to the finish line. Logs, tires, litters, sleds, telephone poles and definitely water, combined with the western Pennsylvania mountains and limestone mines, are some of the highlights this 8 mile gauntlet delivers to its participants.
