Looking for tough competition? Try the 8 a.m. Elite Wave

The 5 Mile ELITE WAVE is meant to be the most physically challenging experience for our participants with similar abilities. This option is only available at the 8:00 a.m. race time, so be sure to register as we are limited to 250 runners, including both individuals and 4-person teams, who can maintain an 8 minute 30-second mile pace. The ELITE WAVE is meant to be a competitive event. For the purpose of awarding medals we must keep each team at a consistent number (four). We offer start-to-finish chip timing to insure accurate timing for each participant.

The 5 Mile course is not only longer, it has more difficult terrain, and includes a few more obstacles and special surprises that will be unique to the ELITE WAVE. You will get 3 chances to correctly complete each obstacle as instructed by the obstacle captain. If you are unable to complete an obstacle, you (and your teammates) will be disqualified from receiving an award.

Elite Wave timing

Individuals –each person competing in the ELITE WAVE must be able to maintain an 8 minute 30-second mile and correctly complete each obstacle. Your time will start at exactly 8:00 a.m. and stop once you cross the finish line. Awards will be based on the amount of time in which it takes you to correctly complete the course. These awards will be given to the top 3 male and top 3 female finishers.

Teams –same as above, except a team’s stop time will be tracked as the last person on that team crosses the finish line. Awards will be based on the time of the last team member that crosses the finish line. These awards will be given to the top all-male team, top all-female team and top co-ed team finishers.
