Behind the Scenes at US OCR Championships

Mud Run Guide has been on the ground since Tuesday at the first US OCR Championships put on by the same team that produces the OCR World Championships. The US Championships has been a joint effort by many of the top obstacle course racing brands in the United States (and beyond). The event showcases the best that American obstacle racing has to offer.

We have been at YO Ranch Headquarters a location in the heart of Texas Hill Country about two hours outside of San Antonio.

The build team here consists of race directors, and race foreman's from around American from races such as Green Beret Challenge, Terrain Race, Conquer the Gauntlet, Indian Mud Run, and some of the recent build crew from the CrossFit Games. Mud Run Guide's Brett Stewart is organizing the teams as the race director for the event. The team has been working tirelessly around the clock to put on a unique event.

Chris Acord was working on a modified Pipe Dreams obstacle from Savage Race. Who is ready for Wet Pipe Dreams?

Green Beret Challenge has a couple of their obstacles here for the race.

The Conquer the Gauntlet wall is massive! Don't worry they didn't forget Stairway to Heaven. Athletes will find it out on the course.

Balance is going to play a key here if you don't want to get wet.

Indian Mud Run's floating walls are taller and more impressive than ever right before the finish line.

Terrain Race brought more than one of their famous rope walls to the race.

Force 5 made the trip down from Canada to debut a new obstacle this weekend and custom equipment just for US OCR Championships.

Ian O'Hara, safety checking one of the obstacles on the course. Every obstacle is tested by the crew and signed off before making it into the race.

It's like Skull Valley, and Dragon's Back had a baby to create this Legendborne branded obstacle.

Wreck Bag is on more than a few places on the course.

Even the local residents are excited for the weekend.
