Top Elite Obstacle Course Racers From Both Nations Will Faceoff at Navy SEALs-Inspired OCR Event on Saturday, August 2nd in Englishtown, NJ
MIAMI, FL (July 30, 2014) – As if it were not exciting enough with challenging obstacles and live demonstrations featuring U.S. Navy SEALs and a McDonnell-Douglas 600 Special Mission Bird helicopter, leaders of BattleFrog today announced that its NY-NJ-CT event is shaping up to be a United States of America vs. Canada challenge with top-ranked obstacle course race athletes from both nations announcing that they will compete on Saturday, August 2, 2014 in Englishtown, New Jersey.
Several top obstacle course race (OCR) athletes are scheduled to participate in the BattleFrog 15K elite heat on August 2nd at Raceway Park in Englishtown, New Jersey.
Racers from the United States include:
- Hobie Call of Utah, who is one of the top two USA OCR racers and is one of the most well-known and recognizable figures in the history of obstacle course racing. Call has 42 titles to his credit, including taking first place at the inaugural BattleFrog race held in Atlanta earlier this year. Call will be competing in this event and motivating his fellow OCR sports enthusiasts.
- Junyong Pak of Massachusetts, who is one of the top two USA OCR racers and has won multiple world championships. Pak finished the BattleFrog Metro DC event in 1:07:41 and is now such a fan of the organization that he made competing in the NY-NJ-CT event a priority.
- Matthew Kempson of Connecticut, one of America’s top obstacle course racers. Kempson is currently ranked second in the world for his age group and 12th in the overall world ranking.
- Elliot Megquier of Virginia, is a lieutenant on active duty with the U.S. Army. Megquier is known for his fierce competitive spirit that has earned him podium finishes in numerous races.
- Nele (Nayla) Schulze of Massachusetts, who has competed in several of the most brutal competitions on the planet.
- Sarah Pozdol of Illinois, is a well-known OCR athlete on several popular racing circuits. She has several podium finishes under her belt.
Racers from Canada include:
- Ben Morin Boucher of Quebec, Canada currently a top-ranked obstacle course race (OCR) athlete in Canada. Boucher had his personal best race season in 2013 with nine first place finishes.
- Marc-André Bédard of Quebec, Canada, a member of the Canadian Olympic team and member of the Canadian national team since 2003. Bedard’s Olympic sport is the biathlon (skiing and shooting).
- Helene Dumais of Quebec, Canada, an elite obstacle racer, trail runner, and adventurer who has been a top three finisher in the past 10 events in which she has competed.
- Claude Godbout of Quebec, Canada, a member of the Canadian biathlon national team. Godbout holds the title of world champion for being the fastest female in two well-known American OCR events.
