Course Description:
The 5.5 mile course is a single loop permanent course carved into the woods and terrain surrounding our 600+ acre resort and golf course. Trails vary from well cleared to technical and some creeks. The 35+ obstacles include walls, cargo net, rope climbs and desents, several balance sections, some water and mud, 7 section traverse wall, inclined monkey bars, crawls and webbing. This is a challenging course and can be completed either as individuals or teams.
Aid Stations:
There will be two water stations, one of which the racers will pass by twice. The Greenville Rescue Squad will be onsite with an ambulance and several paramedics.
Lifeguards stationed at 2 water obstacles.
Water and post race snacks at the finish line.
Free bag check, shower station and changing tent.
Awards:
Elite racers will be competing for $1,000 for the top 3 male/female finishers. Thor's Hammer to be awarded to the top male and female.
Open waves are awarded prizes for top 3 male/female for 55 and under and 56 and over. Fastest Team and Largest Team.
OCR World Championship Qualifier
Spectators:
Spectators are FREE and it is a family friendly event.
The race start/finish take place at the pavilion at our 10 acre lake. There are several playgrounds in this area as well as paddle boats and row boats. We will be providing rides to our designated viewing areas with our unique resort "Just For Fun" rides. The after-party is open to all spectators. BBQ lunch buffet includes a drink and is available for purchase. $10 for adults. $6 for kids.
Parking:
Parking is free and within a fairly short walking distance to registration.
Post Party:
The after-party will take place at the pavilion located at the start/finish line. Lunch and Beer is served here and there will be a DJ playing through the afternoon.
Other:
This event is timed.
The minimum age to race is 14 years old.
The Viking donates money to the Greenville Rescue Squad.
Team:
Create your Clan! We have designated a team competition wave. Each team must have a minimum of 3 racers including at least 1 female. In honor of Flag Day Weekend, teams must start and finish together while carrying their own team made flag. This is the only wave that will recognize Top 3 team prizes. Teams may create as many clans as they'd like as long as they meet the requirements for each clan.
If you want to show team pride but still race as an individual be sure to name your team during registration. Recognition of the largest team award will be taken from teams named in the individual open waves.
