Course Description:
A 3k obstacle race through the dark woods at Amesbury Sports Park. Yes, you heard that right, headlamps, night time, woods. And that’s just the beginning. Add a host of ghosts hidden along the course, six obstacles to conquer while trying to control your racing heart, and enough screeching and screaming to guarantee you’ll be totally freaked out and ASP’s Night of Frights will take the 5k race trend for “Soccer Mom Bragging Rights” to a whole new level of glory.
Prizes:
The Purgatory Party will feature the “Dressed to Kill” Costume Contest in which racers and spectators compete for up to $5,000 in prizes for the goriest costume, scariest costume, funniest costume, and best in show.
Spectators:
$15, or just $10 if you come in costume
Post Party:
If you survive the haunted 3k trail race, you will be rewarded not only with bragging rights, but also with the Purgatory Party – sink your teeth into a fresh pig roast, warm up next to the bonfire and treat yourself to a frosty cold beer. Believe me, this is heaps more fun than apple picking, searching for cider donuts, or going on a haunted hayride. The Purgatory Party will feature the “Dressed to Kill” Costume Contest in which racers and spectators compete for up to $5,000 in prizes for the goriest costume, scariest costume, funniest costume, and best in show. Why sit home trying to carve pumpkins when you could be out in the woods, running for your life and then ending up at the best après-terror race around?

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Special Olympics of New England.
Night of Frights 3k is untimed – because getting out of the woods and into the PurgatoryParty is challenge enough. Survival is your reward.
Racers must be 18 years or older to register. All racers must run with a buddy – no solo racers allowed. All racers must wear a headlamp.
