Race Start Time:
Morning times are 8am, 9am, 10am and the afternoon times are 11am, 12pm, 1pm. We will send out an email to all participants approximately 2 weeks prior to race day with your start time.
Times are first come, first serve so the sooner you register the earlier you run! If you sign up as a team you are guaranteed to be put in the same start time.
We launch runners onto the course every two minutes, so you are guaranteed to start within a half hour of your designated start time.

Course Description:
The Del Mar Mud Run 5k is back at the historic Del Mar Fairgrounds for its 5th consecutive year. One of the most fun mud runs in the world, it has attracted celebrities, international media and participants from across the country.
A 5K race with 15+ obstacles and an after party unlike any other! The course will be designed to test your running, wading, jumping, climbing and balance skills throughout the mud intensive course! The multiple obstacles will be designed to provide a challenging and fun course for people of all ages!

Medals will be given out each time slot for the following:

Parking:
$10. The parking lot is managed separately and there is a $10 cost per car CASH ONLY to park at the Del Mar Fairgrounds/Race Track complex. WE HIGHLY ENCOURAGE CARPOOLING to reduce your per-person cost (plus it’s good for the environment!)
Post Party:
There will be plenty of food and beverage at the Mud Fest!
You can get into the VIP Party by being one of the first 200 people to fundraise at least $100 on our fundraising website or by buying a VIP ticket benefitting the Challenged Athletes Foundation on our VIP page, which will be set up soon.

This event is proudly benefitting CAF, Challenged Athletes Foundation’s® (CAF) Operation Rebound® program. This is the premier sports and fitness program for American military personnel, veterans and first responders with permanent physical disabilities. It provides unparalleled opportunities to pursue active, athletic lifestyles by offering access to funding for equipment and training and competition expenses, Military Medical Center Physical Training (MMCPT) and sports clinics
We issue each participant a timing chip that is attached to your shoe lace. The chip is encoded with your name, race number and other information and allows us to quickly and accurately determine your race time.
You are required to run with your bib number and will not be allowed on the course without it. This is used for identification purposes as well as the race photos.
The Del Mar Mud Run is for ages 13 and up.
There is a rinse off area and private changing areas for males and females.
Mud likes to steal your shoes via suction so please ensure that you have boots or a style of shoe that covers the ankle. Some participants will use duct tape over their running shoes to keep them on their feet.
Loose clothes will slow you down especially if you have pockets that will hold water and mud!
We highly encourage costume-wearing to make it even more fun!
A bag check will be available prior to the race for keys, wallets, cell phones, etc.
A change of clothes and a few towels for post race cleanup is highly recommended unless you are riding in someone else’s car…then don’t worry about it!
