The 5K & 10K course are the same for the first 5K. Runner will experience road, gravel, dirt, riverbed, forest and orchard terrain. Three steep uphill elements are incorporated into this course with three additional downhill elements. Mud-pits, roped terrain, "The Beaches of Normandy", river crossings, "Sherwood Forrest" and a flooded orchard are a few of the obstacles runners will encounter. This course finishes on the campus named “Killer Hill” before making the last quarter mile sprint to the finish-line.
Once the 10K runners finish the 5k course they continue onto the last half of the 10k course. Runners will quickly transition through the "Skin Diver" obstacle and into a trail running portion of the course. Some of the trails are single track while others are wider. Elevation changes are drastic on this part of the course and runners eventually make their way to the horse pasture and riverbed. Obstacles on this part of the course include mud-pits, "Log Jams" and river crossings. Runners then make their way up the longest elevation gain on the course before transitioning down the steepest section of the course. Obstacles here include downed trees, steep slopes, roped courses and "Pits of Despair". 10k finishers complete the course by once again traversing “Killer Hill”.
$5.00 - Parking is available on the campus of Rio Lindo Adventist Academy for a $5.00 fee per car. Once participants arrive on campus they will be directed as to where to go for the designated parking areas. You will not need to find alternative parking areas as there will be enough space for all participants.
