Course Description:
BMC courses range ~ 2 to 2.5 miles. The race will have between 10 and 12 obstacles. We design all obstacles with detour paths and varying difficulty levels so there is a good chance you will be able to complete all obstacles. However, all runners should assess each obstacle at the approach to determine if their fitness level and overall condition will enable them to complete it without injuring themselves or others. Go around any obstacle that you or your child don’t want to complete.
You will get wet and muddy. If you have brand new kicks or sweet gear it’s probably best to not wear them. Jewelry of all kinds are encouraged to be removed and left at home. Costumes however are highly encouraged!
Aid Stations:
On course water station, finisher bottled water, and paramedics will be on standby.
Spectators:
Free admission for spectators. For everyone’s safety we set up specific spectator areas to keep the course clear for participants. We will kindly ask spectators to remain in the designated areas.
Post Party:
Food & vendors will be available for pre and post-event fun.
Other:
BMC is 100% team based and each participant must be at least six years old. 70% of youth participants are between the ages of 7 & 10 years old. 65% of adult participants are between the ages of 35 & 43 years old.
There are two critical items to bring to the race. Adults need a valid government ID and each participant regardless of age must turn in a hard copy waiver form. Don’t worry about paper tickets, your online registration puts you on the list for race day check in.
The race will not be canceled for rain! This is the Big Muddy Challenge! If there is lightning, we’ll delay waves until it passes. When the race resumes, waves will go off at 15 minute intervals until the race is back on schedule. If there’s severe weather that prevents the event from being held at all on Saturday, it’ll be moved to Sunday.
