Rise Up Challenge The Rise Up Challenge (RUC); which stands for Resistance, Integrity, Strength and Endurance, is a one of a kind event in the heart of the city, pairing obstacle course racing (OCR), trail running and a dash of orienteering to create a unique experience. RUC will play off your physical and mental strengths (and weaknesses) to help redefine your limits and push you to new heights! Each event focuses on utilizing the obstacles and roadblocks found within the city, nature and the surrounding environment to not only challenge you individually, but in some cases, require you to work together to succeed. With each option, Finisher’s will receive a Medal, Race Patch and an experience they won’t soon forget. Although they are different in distance, each RUC will provide challenge that will push your limits! At the end of the day, the question isn’t IF you will do a RUC, but HOW FAR do you want to push yourself and #RedefineYourLimits when you join us for a race.

Course Description:

This year’s event will flow along the trails and landscape of the Alberta wilderness and river valley and focus on running wild in the Alberta outback. Choose from a short course (5+ Km), long course (15+ Km), or virtual course to experience Rise Up the way that fits you best.
To align with Alberta Health Services measures, we will not be adding obstacles to our course this year.
This year, we will also introduce something new, consider it a ""choose your own adventure"" type of race. You have the option of completing the course one of the three ways:
Run, Ruck, or Bike. It's your choice. The distance of the course stays the same, but you can travel from start to finish by running it in your best shoes, jumping on your bike and riding the course, or throwing on a ruck pack and hiking the course.

Kids (ages 10 – 18) encouraged to participate with their parents or guardians to make the event a family-fun experience.
