Course Description:
The course is set over the vast Temple Newsam estate and involves running up and down hills, negotiating over 20 obstacles involving climbing over walls, crawling through tunnels, getting through the water obstacle known as cage fight, carrying sandbags, undertaking a unique challenge known as Jack and Jill (that's a clue), going under and over nets and the sting in the tail at the end of the race in true special forces style doing the ricochet.
Aid Stations:
There will be a centralised first aid team on call to deal with every level of emergency but there will also be first aid responders around the course so aid can be given quickly if needed.
Awards:
There will be an awards ceremony at approximately 12.30am for the fastest male, fastest female and fastest team of 3 who cross the line holding hands wearing successive bib numbers (i.e bibs 234, 235, 236)
Prizes:
The prize for fastest male and female is a Yorkshire Mud Run commemorative hoodie, 3 months of Unlimited Fitness membership to any Yorkshire Commando Fit venue, celebration bubbly and a winners trophy.
The prize for the fastest mixed team of 3 is a Yorkshire Mud Run commemorative hoodie, a month of Unlimited Fitness membership to any Yorkshire Commando Fit venue, celebration bubbly and a winners trophy.
Spectators:
Spectators can roam the course and view completely free of charge and there will be a chance to see loved ones and friends during the race and be there to see them when they cross the finish line too.
Parking:
There are loads of car parks around the venue, some are free and some charge but the venue caters for tens of thousands so there won't be a problem finding a car park place within minutes of the registration point in front of Temple Newsam house.
Other:
Minimum age is 18 on the day of the event.
Event is chip timed and chips are picked up on the morning this year.
Post race there will be vendors on site to grab a bite to eat.
There is also a café on site too and very clean public toilets.
Families can also walk around the estate with child and pram friendly walks.
Team:
Teams of 10 or more there is a 10% discount applied throughout the sign up process.
If more team members sign up at a later date they will have to pay the correct price at the time of 'their' sign up, NOT the team captains.
They will still qualify for a 10% discount though.
Teams wanting to challenge for the fastest 3 'mixed' team must be either wearing consecutive bib numbers or make themselves known to the race marshall to have their 3 bibs/ race numbers marked before the race commences.
