Race Start Time:

The Team Event begins at 8:00 a.m. The first wave of the team event is for military, special forces, swat teams and public safety, all other teams will follow. The Open Competition begins at approx. 9:30. There will be 50 people per heat, which will be parted at the start line, heats will run approx. 5 minutes apart, line up with your friends to run together.

Course Description:

The course is a mix of trails, woods, streams to jump, and asphalt. There are fun obstacles along the 3 mi. run portion, including sand-bag carry, tire crossing, gates to cross, and streams. The real challenge will begin where the 3 mi. course runs into our police training obstacle course. We have a total of 19 obstacles, a mixture of easy to difficult. A tower climb, rock wall, attic climb, A-frame ladder, balance beam, cargo net, pipe crawls, pipe slide, belly-mud crawl, rope climb, monkey bars, traverse rope, wall climb. Teams are encouraged to work together thru the obstacles, all team members must finish together. In the open event (single runners) or the team event - anyone who cannot complete an obstacle will drop and do burpees before moving on. There will be ""escaped inmates"" along the route and door prizes for catching. This is the one day a year that we open our training course to the public, it is a fun and challenging event.

Aid Stations:

We will have 1 water station at the halfway point of the run. We will have course monitors throughout the entire run and obstacle course. We will have paramedics on site and a first aid station. There will be plenty of fruit and water at the finish area.

Awards:

We will have team awards for Top Public Safety, Top Male Team, Top Female Team, Top Co-Ed Team. Awards in the open competition for Top Cop, Top Male Overall, Top Female Overall, age group awards for male/female 1st, 2nd, 3rd.

Prizes:

We will have great door prizes for catching inmates along the course.

Spectators:

Spectators are free. There is a large open area in the center of the O-course where the cool-down party will be and this is great for watching and cheering on your runners and teams.

Parking:

Parking is free. There is plenty of parking within walking distance and officers will be directing.

Post Party:

The cool-down party includes music by Garage71, food, vendors, Kona Ice, Monster Energy.

Other:

This event benefits our teen explorer program (law enforcement mentoring and training), Beat the Heat (teaches teens against street racing, texting and driving, etc.).
Kids under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the course.
The event is digital chip timing.
No swimming is required.
We will have gear check and a wash-off area.

Team:

The Team Competition consists of 4 person teams. The teams are encouraged to work together over, under and thru the obstacles and all team members must finish together!
