There will be over 30 obstacles on the 5km course with more on the 7.5k and 10k courses, which will make it a challenging but achievable course for everyone. The first wave is an elite wave, to allow those who would like to compete to do so on a clear course. The following waves will be mixed ability with the focus on fun.

and many more

The 1k kids course will have a range of age appropriate obstacles.

Aid Stations:

There will be an aid station at the split point for the 5K/7.5K/10K course, which will mean the 5k runner have one aid station and the 7.5K and 10K runners will pass it twice. The race has a big focus on reducing plastIcs so reusable bottles will be given out at the end for rehydration along with snacks.

Awards:

The Elite wave is a trophy race, split by gender and over/under 40s.

Prizes:

There is also a prize(s) for the first finisher(s), which is currently a return train ticket from Hull to London from Hull Trains worth £440.

Spectators:

Spectators are free and there is a free, fun, family friendly educational trail, which has been located throughout the course.
The Humbrella Trail, has a series of topics, which will be supported by a wide range of organisations across the city:
Healthy choices
Unshakeable communities
Money matters
Really safe homes
Environmental
Loving Life
All doing our bit

Parking:

As this is city centre based there is no designated parking. Participants and spectaors can use any one of the city centre parking lots.

Post Party:

There is not a post-race party but we do recommend you stay around to enjoy the many restaurants and pubs in the city centre.

Other:

This will be a race that is marshalled like no other race - the blue uniformed CIty of Culture (now Absolutely Cultured) volunteers will be out in force to cheer participants along and make sure everyone has a safe and fun day.
The educational element and city centre location will let you be truely efficient - racing, sightseeing and educated all at once....
The Living with Water Partnership who are organising the race (Hull City Council, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, Yorkshire Water and the Environment Agency) are supporting WaterAid and are encouraging teams to take part to raise money for this important charity.
Age restriction for racers: Any wave: 16 years+, including Humbergeddon (large slide) / Teen Wave: 12-15 yrs, main route, excluding Humbergeddon / Kids Race: 4-11 yrs, contained in Queen’s Gardens
Once registered you will receive updates leading up to the race, including guides. At the race day registration you will pick up your identification numbers and timing chips. Our Facebook page is normally the quickest way to see up dates.
You can either transfer your entry to someone else online for free through your booking account or you can give the new person your race confirmation ticket for them to bring with them on race day to take your place.
The postcodes cover the Hull and Haltemprice area, which is the flood risk area that the Living with Water Partnership are responsible for.
The great thing about obstacle course racing is you can do it at any speed you like; run, walk, jog or even skip!
There is one obstacle, the Water Dash, which will be across water. If you fall in there will be a short swim to the exit, with a rope to hold on to. However, you can go round any obstacle.
You MUST bring yourself, trainers with suitable clothing for the race and your ticket confirmation. If you have used the local’s discount - then adults entering themselves or their kids need to bring copy of their proof of address (photo copy or phone picture of either an official letter or drivers licence with your local address on).
Aim to be there 60 mins before your race time.
Toilets and hot showers available

Team:

Teams are welcome and you can add to the team at any point. There is a 10% discount for teams of 4+ and a 20% discount for teams of 8+. If the team grows to the next discount size a refund will be given, so there is complete flexibility.
Teams can be as big or small as you like. We would love to see groups coming together to raise money for a wide range of charities. This is also a great opportunity for low cost corporate team building.
