Course Description:

Born Survivor obstacle courses are designed to push you and your mates to your physical & mental limits - this isn't a simple trail race, gimmicky obstacle event or boring mud run. Our courses are designed by elite ex Royal Marine Commandos; based on some of the toughest military assault courses around the world this is the type of challenge the British Army face every day in their training. We choose the toughest rugged terrain, use many of nature's barriers as well as more than 30 hardcore authentic military style obstacles hand-built by our crack team of obstacle engineers to challenge your fitness, mental toughness and team work. Be like The Best.

BORN SURVIVOR is a Military Assault Course themed event, designed by members of the elite corps of Mountain and Artic Warfare specialists of the Royal Marine Commandos. Our courses give you the chance to test your all round fitness, mental determination and team work against the same type of challenges and standards as the British Army. You will have to overcome authentic military style obstacles, some special 'survivor surprises', muscle draining mud, rugged terrain, baltic river crossings and your own self doubt to be a SURVIVOR.

Born Survivor is not a race. It's about personal achievement, team working and camaraderie, determination to overcome challenges and above all, a true test of character. There will be no chip timing so make sure you wear a watch!

Make no mistake this is going to be tough, Born Survivor is not your average trail run, it's brutal and raw. You will need to train your body to cope with the challenges and your mind to endure the suffering. Most people know what it is like to run in a flat park or around the streets of their home town or city, but just think about adding gruelling terrain, over 30 purpose built obstacles, water crossings, and crawling through mud, lots of mud!

Aid Stations:

There will be a hydration station on the course and one at the finish. Paramedics and a safety team will also be on-site.

Spectators can enjoy watching Born Survivor for FREE!

Parking will be available on site and clear directions to the event car parks will be sited on all approach routes to the event. Parking will be subject to a charge payable on the day in CASH only. Parking will be charged at £5 per car, Mini buses £10 and coaches £25.

Post Party:

Entertainment, music and a range of top quality food and drinks will be available on site all day along with a licensed bar. There will also be a junior obstacle course for the kids to enjoy!

To take part in BORN SURVIVOR you have to be a minimum of 18 on event day. There is no maximum age but you are required to sign a waiver to confirm your fitness for the event.
You do not have to be able to swim, but we would only advise you to participate in BORN SURVIVOR if you are confident in water ( and mud!!!) There will be a need to fully submerge (briefly) on some obstacles.
All competitors will have a 'competitor number' issued at registration and which must be worn at all times while you are on the course. However given the nature of the course, numbers may become unattached (as long as it is not arms and legs as well that's OK!) - and so for safety, medical support and security purposes we will be body marking every competitor with a semi permanent marker pen - this washes off easily with soap and water.
Hopefully a team member or fellow SURVIVOR will help you, but if you really can't or don't want to complete an obstacle one of our marshals will try and assist you or of course you can bypass the obstacle. But come on this is a challenge right - have a go.
There is no time limit, but marshals and event staff will judge if struggling participants are fit to continue - their decision is final. Your race number will be removed from you and you will be retired from the event If you continue after they have judged you unfit to carry on then you will invalidate your event insurance. We expect it to take around 1-2 hours to complete the 10k course and 4-5 hours to complete the marathon.
There will be water stations around the course.
There will be no showers available at the event. We do provide hand-washing facilities and strongly advise you to wash your hands after completing the course and before eating.

We do not give refunds but we recognise that things happen and we offer two options to help you.
We are happy to transfer your place to someone else. Please email the following details to Full name of existing participant and the following information for the new person. Full name, postal address, email address, contact phone number, date of birth, gender, emergency contact name and phone number, any medical conditions and t-shirt size.
