The Stampede The Stampede Mud Race is comprised of two courses side-by-side. A course for racers over 14-years of age and a course for racers ages 8 to 13-years-old. Racers between the ages of 8 and 13 must be accompanied by an adult. The course covers approximately 3.2 miles which is equivalent to a 5k. All obstacles have 1 of 3 phases to them: upper body, whole body and lower body. These obstacles are designed to uniquely challenge each competitor’s skill levels. A racer can expect to climb, crawl, balance, suspend and descend landscapes and obstacles during the running of the course. It is up to the individual on how they want to compete. They can walk the course, run it for time or simply slosh through it with family and friends, getting muddy, laughing and having a good time. We call it a mud event/race, so we time it. But our emphasis is on the experience of the day and what we believe is important is finishing the course and having fun. The Stampede Mud Race is designed for fun, friends, family and good times together while getting out and exercising and having fun. Other races similar to The Stampede market themselves on being the toughest, having the best after-party, etc, but our main goal is to make The Stampede a family day. An unusually, muddy, fantastic family day. During Race Day Race day consists of approximately 20 waves beginning at 9 am with waves beginning every 30 minutes depending on the total amount of runners. After parking, make your way through registration and check your bags in. You will be able to glimpse a few of the obstacles. Stretch out or relax in The Stampede village where food, drink vendors are located. It is suggested to arrive at least 30-45 minutes before your starting time. Racers are called to the Post 10 minutes before every race. You will receive your race number and timer during registration. Completion times vary depending on level of fitness and how you are running the race. Some runners will be finished within 20-25 minutes while others may take as long as 2 hours. When you do cross the finish line, runners will receive a completion medal, water and fruit slices. Then mosey over to the portable showers (a Stampede exclusive design) to clean the mud off and return to the Corral and brag, eat and just be merry. Last year we did have some local bands play during the race and into the evening, and we hope to also do the same this year.

Course Description:

Our course would be between a 6-7 (10 scale) in difficulty. There are woods, hills, trees, creeks and plenty of mud. The course changes each year but there are between 16-22 obstacles each race. The obstacles range from wall climbs to rope climbs to tire rolling. It varies each time.

Aid Stations:

Aid station plus course volunteers stationed through out with radio/cell service for prompt extraction via ATV in the event of emergency.

Awards:

There is an overall first place prize given away each year to lowest individual time. Ceremony upon completion of the days event.

Spectators:

Spectators are free to come and watch, but still need to pay parking. Car pooling encouraged.

Parking:

$10, no shuttle needed. Car pooling encouraged

Post Party:

Post race has food, beer and DJ on hand for celebrating the days event. Anyone can attend.

Other:

Our course is designed to accommodate runners of all abilities and also alleviate the backing up other courses have when at obstacles. We also believe in truth in advertising. When we say we are in Louisville, we mean it. You won’t be driving 45 minutes to get to our course. We are on the outskirts of town, which makes us a great location!
Wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes (you will be running or walking). Costumes are highly encouraged if you dare.
This is a great way to get out and see the countryside in a new way. Challenges at each stop will test your abilities along the way. If you choose to walk, you just might see some of the wildlife in the area.
Obstacles are part of the course and we highly encourage you to attempt each obstacle. If for some reason you are not able to complete the challenge, you can go around but you will not be eligible for any top racer prizes.
Timing will start at the beginning of your race time. Your finish time will be calculated once you cross the finish line. All races will start promptly on the hour and half hour so be ready to go at your designated time.
8 years old to 108 years old.
Teams are based off the total age of each participant added together. 8+38=46. Age group awards will be presented at the concert.
Showers are provided during The Stampede. Our showers are state of the art. You will love em.
No animals are allowed during the event.

Team:

Teams are encouraged to come and there are discounts/extra SWAG available to teams with a minimum of 10 and teams over 20.
