Course Description:
The 5k Mud Run course will include 15 to 20 obstacles using the attributes of the natural landscape.
Awards:
Awards for the competitive division will be presented shortly after the race results are known, reviewed, and made official.
Spectators:
Spectators are free. You'll be able to view at least a couple of the obstacles from the vieweing area. Only registered participants are allowed on the course. The course is designed to allow viewing of some great obstacles
Parking:
If you are a registered mud runner, you can park at Comstock High School. When the lots are full, we will direct you to the off-site parking. You can walk to the starting line or take a shuttle. Please arrive at least 45 minutes to one hour before your race time.
Post Party:
Snacks and beverages after the event. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed anywhere at the event.
Other:
CHARITY: The majority of the funds will go to Operation Starfish to help build 50 wells in 50 villages in the next five years. A percentage of the event's net proceeds will be donated to Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes to provide food for those in need in Kalamazoo. A portion of the proceeds will be used the to cover the costs of creating and operating the event. Most of the materials, labor and marketing have been donated by our generous sponsors.
The starting age for the 5k is 12 years old. However, if you feel your younger child is physically prepared for the 5k, they must have a registered adult run with them. One adult can run for FREE with each child. The adult must sign a waiver to run with their child. Adult kids run waivers will be available at packet pick-up/check-in. A safer shorter version of the regular Mud Run for kids 6-12 years old. Children under age 6 are not allowed to participate. The course is about 1 mile with plenty of obstacles fun and challenging for kids.
The race officials do have the right to enforce a time limit for runners that are not trying to finish in a timely manner.
Some water may be waist high to an adult. Safety volunteers will be near all of the water obstacles. Jump feet first only! Never dive head first into any obstacle on the course
Join us for the kickoff with the Kalamazoo Mud Run on June 8th then complete the 2nd half of the Muddy Double by conquering The Muddy Patriot at Timber Ridge on June 29th. All new Muddy Double swag and prizes to be awarded.

Participants and Teammates are permitted to assist each other through obstacles. If you cannot complete an obstacle after making an attempt to complete it 3 times, you may go around.
No pets are allowed at the Kalamazoo Mud Run except for trained service dogs.
You can arrive anytime at least an hour ahead of your race time. We recommend planning to get there at least 1 hour in advance in case there is heavy traffic approaching the event or on-site parking is full and you have to use off-site parking.
You can wear costumes as long as it does not impair your vision or breathing. There will be a contest for costumes so have fun and be creative.Just remember, this is a kid-friendly event so please use discretion.
There will be an area for runner-checked items. We will have rinsing stations for race participants. Be sure to bring a towel and some clothes to change into. A changing area will be available.
Team:
Any number of people age 12 and up can be on a team. Teams can be all male, all female or coed. For awards, the team time will determined by averaging all of the times of everyone on the team. All teams must stay within 15 seconds of each other. There are timing mats at the start and finish of the course. Teams will be disqualified if any team member's time at checkpoints is not within 15 seconds of ALL other teammates.
