Creek Crawl The Creek Crawl at Foley, AL Graham Creek Nature Preserve will take racers through a competitive 5 miles of dirt, mud, and water with 25 surprise obstacles along the way. Mark your calendars for SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5! This year there will be a competitive 5 mile race as well as a 5K Fun Run. The competitive heats will begin at 8:00 am for Individuals and 8:45 am for Teams. The 5K Fun Run will begin at 10:00 am.

5 mile race for participants 14 and over. 5K race for participants 10 and over.

Awards ceremony will begin at 10:30 am with awards for 5 mile races. All finishers of the 5 mile race will receive medals. Awards for 1st and 2nd place males and females in each age category (29 & under, 30-49, 50 & over.), 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Teams, and overall Male and Female times.

Post race party on Graham Creek with southern food, beer and music!

Course Description:

Course crosses swamps, pitcher plant bogs, forests, open fields and shallow streams. The terrain is relatively flat, but the course is very rough in areas due to regular flooding. 5 mile event will have 25 obstacles, including creek crossings, mud holes, walls and dirt hills to climb, belly crawls through mud holes, log jumps, tire carries, rope maze, slippery slides and hurdles. The 5K includes 15 of the obstacles that are less intense challenges.

Aid Stations:

There will be paramedics at two places along the course (about 2 mile mark and 4 mile mark). There will be two water stations as well (1.5 mile mark and 3 mile mark). Finish line will have fruit and water. Post race party will have food and beverages.

Awards:

Male and female individuals placing 1st and 2nd in age categories receive trophies and a prize.

Age groups - 29 and under; 30-49; 50 and over.

Teams - first 3 racers times averaged - 1st, 2nd and 3rd places receive trophies and gift certificates.

Top times for overall male and female will receive a trophy and a prize.

Spectators:

Spectators are free and can walk along course. Spectators must purchase entry to post party.

Parking:

Parking is at event in an open field. $2 charge for parking. Based on attendance and parking needs there may be a 1/4 mile walk to sign in area.

Post Party:

Post race party will be at the event. A DJ will liven up the party with music. A local seafood restaurant will provide a jambalaya plate. A local brewery will sell beer. Soda and water will also be available from vendors.

Other:

All proceeds will benefit Graham Creek Nature Preserve and its educational programs.
Minimum age for the 5 mile race is 14 and for the 5K racers must be 10.
The 5K Fun Run will not be a timed event.
All obstacles will be challenges with no water depths over 3 feet.
Following the race there will be hoses and several showers available for cleaning.

Team:

Teams may consist of 3-6 members. There are no price adjustments for teams versus individuals. Teams must be named. Top three finishers per team will have times averaged for the awards consideration. Teams are encouraged to dress similarly for the race.
