Course Description:
Stop, Drop & Run features a firefighter themed obstacle course that challenges your strength, stamina, and team work.
The course takes place on the heights of Monaca. It includes various ascents and descents on that route. Based upon Map MyRun calculations, the height difference is about 100 feet.
Participants get to participate in a one-mile fun walk, standard 5K Run / Walk, and a firefighter themed obstacle course. The obstacle course features over 20 obstacles that allow you to live the life of a firefighter for a day.
Obstacles to tackle along the course include: leap of faith (jumping over live fire), high step, window breach, confined spaces, bag carry, anthill, lily pad dash, cargo climb, sidewall climbs, box jump among other unique obstacles.
Aid Stations:
Monaca Fire Department personnel and Water stations will be stationed along the course.
Awards:
Firefighter Themed Prize for First Place and Cash Award
Medals for top 3 male/female from each individual division
Trophy for Military/First Responder & Families Team and a Civilian Team
Spectators:
Spectators are allowed with NO charges
Parking:
The fire department is located in a residential area, as such there is parking available on the street throughout the community.
Other:
All proceeds benefit the Monaca Volunteer Fire Department.
Team:
Groups of 4 or more can compete as a team in the obstacle challenge.
The best Military/First Responder & Families Team and the best Civilian Team get Custom firefighter themed trophy.
Kids Race:
No minimum age for the run. However, We ask that younger runners are supervised on the course by a parent or guardian, for their safety and those running around them.
