Course Description:
ForeShore Adventure Run is a 5k obstacle course on the beach so you are guaranteed to be wet and sandy. The race kicks off with a series of sand dunes and finishes with a 50ft water slide! Participants will conquer 25 obstacles and running in the sand. Each year, a third of the course features new obstacles!
Aid Stations:
There are 6 spots along the course where water is available. Two paramedic units are on standby strategically placed along the course. Fruit, water and Gatorade are available in our Meijer Runner's Oasis for after the race.
Awards:
The top finishers in the Individual Competitive and Team Competitive will receive a custom medal. Awards Ceremonies are held after all competitive runners have come off the course. There are separate ceremonies for the Individual Competitive and Team Competitive.
Spectators:
Spectators are free and welcome to join us on the beach to watch and cheer participants on. We ask that all spectators stay off the course to avoid getting in the way of runners. The course is easy to walk along or hop in your car and drive to the various obstacles so no need to weave about the obstacles.
Parking:
Parking is free and available all along the beach.
Other:
Every dollar paid to ForeShore benefits Muskegon Rescue Mission to provide food, shelter, and clothing to people in West Michigan.
There is no minimum age to participate in ForeShore. Our participants range from 7 years old to 77 years old.
It is up to the discretion of parents if they would like to sign their child up for the traditional race. We also have a Kid's Zone available for children who are too young or not quite ready for the main course. The Kid's Zone is a miniature version of the main course for children to go again and again! There is no cost for admission or registration for the Kid's Zone.
A Key Check is available at Registration. Please leave any valuables in your car (including rings, jewerly, etc.).
NEW! Changing rooms will be available to put on dry clothes.
Refund Policy - No refunds or deferred registration allowed.
All transfer requests, wave change requests, etc. must be submitted at least one week prior to the event. Visit http://foreshore.org/faqs/ for more information on wave changes and transfer requests.
Team:
Fun Run participants are welcome to race as a team, just sign up for the Fun Run but there are no official teams. The Team Competitive Race is comprised of teams of 4 persons. Awards are based on the combined team time. Any groups participating in the team competitive with more or less the 4 persons will be disqualified from winning an award.
