Organizer:MuckFest MuckFest® (formerly known as MuckFest MS) is a high-octane blast from start to finish, with mud so thick and obstacles so big and bold that your athleticism will be tested and leave you wanting more. This 5K run features a one-of-a-kind course packed with 18+ outrageous obstacles surrounded by mud-filled pits, trenches, and craters. Thousands of runners will laugh their way through the route as they slip, slide, jump, climb, and crawl to muddy glory. Runners are encouraged to form teams and conquer the mud with friends. After crossing the finish line, they’ll celebrate together in the MuckFestival area with a free beer and snacks, while rehashing their muddy shenanigans. Spectators are free, and so is their front-row seat for the Start, Finish and several signature obstacles. Even the little ones get their own muddy play area called Lil’ Muckers.

Each participant is required to raise a minimum of $100, in addition to the registration fee, in order to participate. You will not be able to check in nor participate in the event if you have not reached the fundraising minimum.

Military-style run with obstacles that have been surrounded by or consist entirely of mucky fun. People cheer as teams of contestants slip, slide and slosh their way to the finish line. It is a unique experience whether running or watching
All participants get an event t-shirt and are eligible for fundraising prizes.
In the competitive categories, prizes awarded for the top three times in men's individual, women's inidividual, men's team, women's team and coed team categories.
We will have viewing areas for them at the best obstacles, as well as vendors on site for food, drink, and other merchandise.
Runners will get snacks and beverages, including lunch and beer after the run. There will also be concessions for sale for spectators and participants.
There will not be a kids run in 2012. However, there is the South Mountain Recreation Complex and Turtle Back Zoo nearby.
Recreation (Non-Competitive) Division: The recreation division has the exact same challenge course as the competitive division. You must attempt each obstacle once, after that you may continue the run. Long pants are recommended, but not required; tennis shoes are okay, but we recommend boots to drain out the muck and water. Costumes are welcome. All participants get an event t-shirt and are eligible for fundraising prizes. Teams can have as few or as many members desired. The more the merrier! A $100 minimum fundraising amount is required and must be turned in at packet pick up to participate in the event.
Competitive Division: The competitive division has the exact same challenge course as the recreation division. You must give each obstacle three attempts; after that you may continue the run. Long pants (tights are not acceptable), boots covering the ankle and time chip are required. Any lost time chip results in disqualification. Trophies/medals are awarded for the top three times in men's individual, women's individual, men's team, women's team, and co-ed categories. All participants get an event t-shirt and are eligible for fundraising prizes. Teams must have 2 or 5 members. Your official time will only be counted if you cross the finish line together. A $100 minimum fundraising amount is required and must be turned in at packet pick up to participate in the event.
