In the event of cancellation by OCRWC organizers, participants will be issued with a full refund of their registration fee. Refunds are not provided otherwise.
Registered athletes unable to compete due to injury may defer their spot to the following year. The following year’s registration fee is not waived in these instances.
The OCR World Championships are intended to be a competition between the best obstacle course racers in their respective divisions. As such, transfers of race entries are strictly prohibited. Athletes found to be in violation of this policy may be banned from the World Championship and future OCRWC competitions.


Course Description:

The course will be approximately eight miles in length and will marry natural elements with some of the most challenging obstacles in OCR. While the course will share some of the same terrain and obstacles as other Mud, Guts, & Glory events, a significant portion of the course and obstacles will be new to athletes and unveiled only on race weekend.


Cash/prizes are awarded to the top three male and female athletes in each individual division (Elite and Age Groups). In team competitions, cash/prizes are awarded to the top male, female, and co-ed teams. Cash awards and prizes will be announced in the coming months.


All OCRWC participants must qualify for the event by meeting the criteria outlined below at ONE of these 2014 races. Athletes are required to submit proof of results at the time of registration. For full qualification criteria, see here, but at the time of publication, included a certain placing at the following races: Spartan Race, Savage Race, Mud Guts & Glory, Warrior Dash, Superhero Scramble, Terrain Mud Runs, True Grit Series, and Atlas Race.

Participants may also qualify under the Journeyman/woman exemption.

Competition at the OCR World Championships is broken down into the following divisions:
Individual Competition (Elite)

  • Male
  • Female
Individual Competition (Age Group)
  • Male: 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50+
  • Female: 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50+
Journeymen & Journeywomen*
  • Male
  • Female
*Please note that qualification for this division is not results-based. To qualify as a Journeyman/woman, athletes must complete at least four obstacle course races (including Tough Mudders) in 2014 prior to the OCRWC. The number of spots in this division is strictly limited.

Team Competition

Criteria for team competition is as follows:
  • Teams of 4 athletes are required for competition
  • ONE member of the team must meet Qualification Requirements and/or Journeymen Requirements
  • Teams will be required to race and finish the course together
